Accused Planned Parenthood Shooter: I Am A Warrior For The Babies

The so-called Planned Parenthood shooter appeared in court on Wednesday, and what he said has appeared to reveal his true motive behind the attack. Raw Story reports that Robert Lewis Dear has declared his guilt before a Colorado judge, in an apparent attempt to avoid going to trial.

This is a brand new development in a disturbing case that began on November 27, when Dear allegedly opened fire on multiple people at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood facility.

CBS News Denver reports that Robert Lewis Dear cried out his guilt in the middle of court, while his attorney was discussing whether or not cameras should be allowed in the courtroom.

“I am guilty. There will be no trial. I am a warrior for the babies. You’ll never know the amount of blood I saw in that place.”

Later, he allegedly yelled, “Protect the babies!”

Wednesday’s hearing was supposed to be a hearing on the formal filing of charges against the accused Planned Parenthood shooter. Prosecutors plan on entering 179 various counts against Dear, which include murder charges associated with the deaths of the three people who died in the November shooting. Those three victims were Garrett Swasey, Ke’Arre Stewart, and Jennifer Markovsy. Numerous other people were shot, but survived.

Immediately after news of the shooting hit the public, it was mass-speculated that there could be a far-right or religious motive behind the apparent targeting of Planned Parenthood. Those suspicions were only seemingly confirmed when the shooter was revealed to be Robert Lewis Dear, who muttered “no more baby parts,” as he was arrested.

It’s presumed that Dear was referring to notoriously hoaxed/altered videos about Planned Parenthood that went super viral earlier this year. Even though it’s been confirmed that those videos did not offer an honest depiction of Planned Parenthood, there are still numerous people who believe them. Social media discussion about the topic still exists — which came to light when some people took to Twitter and Facebook to praise Robert Lewis Dear for the alleged attempted mass shooting at Planned Parenthood.

All of the pundits and politicians who have been spreading lies about Planned Parenthood have blood on their hands…

Dear’s outburst in court does indeed seem to indicate that he committed the crimes specifically with the motive in mind to eradicate Planned Parenthood in some degree. However, this was not an arraignment or plea hearing, so his declaration of guilt may not be official. Until he formally enters a plea he is still not convicted of the crimes he declared guilt in committing.

CNN reports that the accused Planned Parenthood shooter made a total of 17 outbursts during Wednesday’s court appointment. When a list of names of the wounded was read during the hearing, Dear shouted about abortion.

“Could you add the babies that were to be aborted that day? Can you add that to the list?”

He also commented about “the Batman shooter” in reference to being put on psychiatric drugs.
