Michael Jackson Death Anniversary: Celebrities Take To Twitter To Remember The King Of Pop


On June 25th, 2009, Michael Jackson, the king of pop, passed away.

Jackson died from cardiac arrest in 2009. The Los Angeles Coroner’s office later ruled that his death was a homicide and his doctor, Conrad Murray, was eventually found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

Jackson rose to fame as part of the family ensemble The Jackson 5 but later broke off to start one of the most successful solo careers in music history. His album, Thriller, is the best-selling album of all-time, while albums like Off the Wall, Bad, and Dangerous solidified his place in the Rock Roll Hall of Fame.

Since Jackson’s death, there have been memorabilia auctions, tribute concerts, and movies in celebration of the late pop star.

His brothers are currently embarking on a tour to pay tribute to Michael Jackson’s work in the Jackson 5 and there are currently rumors that Jackson may soon go on tour as a hologram.

The International Business Times reports that several of Jackson’s fans traveled to Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara County today to remember the King of Pop on the anniversary of his death.

Several people also took to Twitter today to post small tributes to Michael Jackson.
