Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: Selena Gomez Lip Sync? Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid Wow, Yolanda Foster Proud Amid Lyme
Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge, Behati Prinsloo, Adriana Lima, and Alessandra Ambrosio were just some of the sexy models sauntering at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show this year. But what viewers see is very different from what really happens behind the scenes of the fashion show, reported USA Today.
When it comes to the wow factor, imagine wearing a bra worth $2 million. That’s the price tag of the Fireworks Fantasy Bra donned by Lily Aldridge. Its value results from gems ranging from sapphires to diamonds, complete with 18-karat gold.
And while the main focus is on the models, the performers get their own share of pre-show nerves. Among those this year at the fashion show were Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez, and the Weeknd.
Although the performers don’t usually take center stage when it comes to reports on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, that wasn’t the case for Selena Gomez, who found herself being accused of lip-syncing, noted People.
Broadcast on Tuesday, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show highlighted Selena sporting a sexy outfit while the models did their best on the catwalk. The problems for Selena arose when a social media image appeared to make it look as if she were lip-syncing.
Gomez headed to Instagram to fight back.
“Yes I f—– sing live,” retorted Selena.
Gomez talked about coping with lupus disease, including treatment that involved chemotherapy. She also discussed being body-shamed.
“You have to understand that I dealt with a lot of body shaming this year, and I’ve never experienced that before,” Selena admitted. “I don’t care about that stuff, but I did start gaining weight and I didn’t really mind it. I enjoyed it.”
As the Inquisitr reported, Gomez initially had not discussed her health condition after discovering that she had lupus three years ago. Thechronic autoimmune disease is not curable.
“It’s kind of one of those situations. You just have to take care of yourself,” explained Gomez.
As for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, while Selena coped with jeers amid cheers, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid just got lots of love from fans of the two young supermodels, pointed out Hollywood Life.
“TBH I wish it could just be Gigi & Kendall for an hr straight,” tweeted one fan.
“Taylor, Gigi, Kendall, Lilly, EVERYONE AGH? @VictoriasSecret I’ve been looking forward to this since 11:01 at the end of the last show,” admitted another.
“LITERALLY GIGI AND KENDALL ARE LIFE GOALS,” sighed a fan happily.
But for Hadid, the joy of her success at the fashion show comes amid family problems. Mom Yolanda Foster has been highly supportive of her model daughter while battling Lyme disease and dealing with divorce, as the Inquisitr reported.
Yolanda has struggled to find the right treatment for her condition.
“I’ve done stem cells, I’ve done ozone treatment, I’ve done holistic antibiotics. I’ve been to many different places where people are open to treatments that are not accepted or approved by the FDA here in America, it’s been like trying to uncover a murder mystery,” shared Foster.
But that doesn’t mean she can’t sum up the energy to keep up with Gigi, from her modeling career to her boyfriends, reported the Daily Mail.
And Yolanda wants Hadid to enjoy her life.
“Gigi’s 20 years old, loving life, shopping like she should,” declared Foster.
While Yolanda has desired to refrain from burdening her children with caring for her, she said that Lyme disease played a role in her divorce from David Foster, reported People.
Although her condition made marriage more challenging, Yolanda emphasized that it was not the only cause of their divorce.
“Well, chronic long-term illness is extremely challenging,” said Foster. “Not only for the person sick but also for the caregiver. It for sure changed the dynamic of the relationship.”
