Kardashians: We’re Spoiled!

The Kardashians have finally confessed in an interview what we all thought was a given anyway: “We’re spoiled!”

Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian were asked if they were ‘spoiled’ by riches and fame during a webisode of Oprah’s Next Chapter. Collectively, their reactions to the venerable chat show host almost – ALMOST – betrayed an ounce of self-awareness:

Khloe: “I think I’m spoiled. I’m not a brat, but I’m definitely spoiled. Look around us.”

Kourtney: “I don’t think I’m spoiled. When I think of it as Khloe’s way, then I do feel very blessed.”

Kourtney: “I think that we work hard to spoil ourselves. […] I like to work hard and set goals and buy myself things at certain periods of life, so that’s spoiling myself.”

Kim perhaps went into the most detail with this probing question, admitting that the sisters were “spoiled,” but earned and bought what they liked through hard work, rather than receiving handouts. (Note: I’m not sure what Kim thinks is actually hard work, but I can’t imagine Khloe is breaking her back while writing sponsored tweets for $8,000 a pop.)

The women had all led blessed childhoods, as Kim freely admitted:

“Growing up in the lifestyle that we did, we had high standards. But our parents let us know, like, if we want this lifestyle, we’d better get to work. We didn’t have credit cards, we didn’t have cell phones. We didn’t have all that that our friends had.”

But stay your tongues, cynics, because this wasn’t a case of being spoiled: without hard work (like how Kim laboriouslyhosted a New Year’s Eve party for $600,000), the girls would have been broke. No, really:

“We lived in a gorgeous house, [had] gorgeous cars. We saw all of that. But if we wanted that, that was up to us.”
