Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng may be traded during the offseason and it was Deng who revealed that little tidbit of information on Sunday.

Deng was training in Texas with Great Britain’s national team and while revving up for the London Olympics he said the Bulls may  trade him during the offseason. Deng also revealed that he did not believe the trade would be in retaliation for having wrist surgery delayed until after the Olympics.

Rumors have been circulating for weeks that Deng could be traded in exchange for a first round draft pick in Thursday’s NBA draft. Insiders believe Deng could find himself playing for the Golden State Warriors in exchange for the No. 7 overall draft pick. That rumor was further speculated upon as Warriors scout Speedy Claxton attended Britain’s practice at the Toyota Center.

Speaking for his desire to stay with the Chicago Bulls Deng proclaimed:

“As much as I want to stay on the team — I love Chicago, I love the Bulls — at the same time, I know the business part of it. Sooner or later, all the rumors are going to come up.”

Despite his wrist injury Luol Deng led the league with 39.4 minutes played per game.

Bulls management had asked Deng to miss the Olympics to give his wrist time to heal, however Deng had promised the team he would play after the country gave his family political asylum when he was only 10 years old. This is the first year Britain has entered a team in the Olympics since 1948.
