Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Reveal Their Son’s Name

Kanye and Kim Kardashian West have finally decided on their newborn son’s name, and no it’s not what you think.

The couple made their big name reveal on their website and app. Their son, who joins their 2-year-old daughter North West, is named Saint West.

“To our fans. Saint West. 12.05.15. 8 pounds, 1 ounce,” the update reads.

Kim gave birth to her new bundle on joy on Saturday, December 5.

At the time, the couple shared the news on their website, saying, “Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West welcomed the arrival of their son this morning. Mother and son are doing well.”

The couple didn’t immediately release their son’s name, however, there was much speculation that he would be named something to do with a direction to keep the theme going, such as South or Easton. Kardashian admitted that she did love the name Easton, but her hubby, rapper Kanye West, wasn’t a fan of it.

“I don’t think we’ll go another direction,” Kardashian said during a previous interview with People Magazine.

“I think it’s so stupid,” she told NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! in June. “I don’t like South West. North will always be better.”

Saint doesn’t appear to have a middle name, although it was rumored that his middle name would be Robert after Kim’s late father, Robert Kardashian. In November, Kim revealed that she and Kanye were waiting until the last minute to decide what they wanted to name their second child, which is the same thing they did when Kim gave birth to North two years ago.

“It’s like the last thing that Kanye and I did when North was born,” she said. “We didn’t name her for like seven days. I feel like it will just come to us.”

It’s a good thing Kim and Kanye didn’t leave the naming job up to their daughter. Kim revealed that North had been giving her opinion on baby names to her parents along with her cousins Mason and Penelope.

“She just says, ‘Baby brother,'” the Keeping up with the Kardashians star said. “[We ask her], ‘What should we name baby brother?’ [She says], ‘Baby brother!'”

Speaking of North, Kim said she and Kanye had been preparing their daughter for when they brought her baby brother home, making sure that she would be able to adjust well to the new addition to their family.

“We read books with her about getting a baby brother and a new sibling all the time! We always say goodnight to baby brother,” Kim wrote on her website in October.

Getting pregnant with Saint West wasn’t an easy task. Kim and Kanye were both very open about their struggles to conceive and revealed the risks associated with Kim’s second pregnancy. After Kim’s successful in vitro fertilization treatment, she had to undergo three surgeries to repair her uterus.

“The inner lining had been so damaged that she was told conceiving on her own wasn’t possible,” a source close to the reality star said.

Kardashian also revealed that there was a strong possibility that she would have to have a hysterectomy following the birth of her son.

“They think I’ll have placenta accreta again, so if the placenta grows a little bit deeper than it did last time, then they are prepared to have my uterus removed, which is a little scary for me,” she said in September.
