Fifth Harmony Breaking Up? Both Camila Cabello And Dinah Jane Address The Rumors

Fifth Harmony fans have been going crazy over the rumors this past weekend. They have been wondering if their beloved girl group is going their separate ways.

The U.S. X Factor winners have been at the center of breakup rumors for the past few months. It all started when Camila Cabello hinted to Latina Magazine that the group would eventually break up. Then what made matters worse is when the rumors swirl that Cabello ditched the 5H recording sessions to hang out with singer and rumored boyfriend Shawn Mendes at the KIIS FM Jingle Ball.

There also have been rumors about Normani Hamilton leaving the group to pursue her own solo career. The group recently released a statement saying that Kordei will not be a part of Fifth Harmony’s Reflection Tour in Mexico due to a death in the family.

“We know some of you have been wondering and we wanted to let our Harmonizer family know that Normani will not be joining us in Mexico due to a death back home. Mani is one of the strongest, kindest humans we know and we’re sending her ALL of our love. The harmonizer family is so vast, let’s help make her heavy heart light. Meanwhile, Mexico, lets do Mani proud.”

So, what’s really going on with the girl group? Both Camila Cabello and Dinah Jane have addressed the split rumors. Cabello spoke to Entertainment Tonight at KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball in Los Angeles on Friday. She insisted that her and the “Stitches” singer are nothing but good friends.

“We are just friends,” Mendes first told ET. “We are not dating.”

“Yeah, we are just friends. He’s like, one of my best friends. He’s amazing,” Cabello added.

Then there were the questions about the breakup rumors surrounding Fifth Harmony. She insisted that the girls have no plans of going their separate ways anytime soon.

“We’re working on our second album right now. We are in the last few days recording. You’re going to be hearing new music very soon, and that’s that.”

Fifth Harmony recently were in Spain doing promotion for their new album. During a 16-minute interview with Madrid’s Europe FM, the girls answered questions from their fans, the Harmonizers. Dinah Jane then hinted about “going our separate ways,” when she read the question, “Where do you see yourselves in five years time?”

“We’ve been together for basically three years now, and looking back, we’re very, very happy with where we’re at right now. But from here on out, we just wanna see — we just wanna hopefully win a couple more awards together; maybe build more music together, as well, before we … I feel like we’ll probably go our separate ways maybe later on.”

Then she added that what she said is the complete truth. So, while the girls aren’t breaking up anytime soon, fans should be aware that they may split sometime in the future.

Their music producer, Harmony Samuels, spoke to Idolator in January about their second studio album. He called the album “fresh” and different from their debut album. Fifth Harmony is said to be working with big name producers like Max Martin. Not only will they show some growth, but they’ll probably release even more sassy hit singles like “Bo$$,” “Worth It,” and “Sledgehammer.” It’s also been rumored that their second album will be more “soulful” and mature, kind of like Destiny’s Child.

It’ll be interesting to see if Camila and Dinah’s words are true. If the girls do intend to go their separate ways, then at least their fans will get another album before it happens.
