The Duggars Are Returning To TLC And It’s Causing A Lot Of Controversy

There has been a lot of controversy and scandal with the Duggars, the family of 19 Kids and Counting on TLC, but it hasn’t fully ended. The Duggars are actually returning to TLC soon, but it’s in a rather different capacity and it’s causing a stir that many did not expect.

A new three-part special called Jill and Jessa: Counting On will officially begin on TLC on Dec. 13, and many thought it would be a great spin-off. The special is bringing forth some of the Duggar children and showing how their lives are moving on now and the numbers are growing with children of their own. Well, it hasn’t actually been accepted by everyone.

ET Online is reporting that a source in the Duggar family has said the TLC special is actually “turning into a circus” and that many of the “family members are disagreeing with a lot of what they (Jill and Jessa) are doing.”

One of the biggest issues has to do with the fact that Anna, wife of Josh Duggar who has been in the middle of two scandals within the last year, is going to appear. The source says that it’s almost horrific to put Anna on camera “at a time like this.”

It was earlier this year that Josh Duggar admitted to molesting five minor girls when he was a teen, and four of them were his sisters. This led to Josh resigning as executive director of FRC Action, a non-profit lobbying branch of the Family Research Council.

His actions and reveal also led to 19 Kids and Counting being officially cancelled by TLC.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Josh Duggar was revealed to be one of those who had their private information shared by the Ashley Madison hack. He admitted he had been “unfaithful” to his wife and that he had an addiction to pornography.

That last admission was later deleted from a statement that had been made by the family.

Anna Duggar stuck by her husband through both scandals. Jessa and Jill will also mention and talk about their brother in the TLC three-part special, but it’s still causing problems as per the source for ET.

“…certain members of the family are more focused on ratings and a paycheck than actually focusing on the issues at hand… [some members of the Duggar family have]… chosen not to participate in the special out of respect to the serious ordeal the family has been going through in the last months.”

Christian Post reports a bit of a different view, as some believe that the return of the Duggars in 19 Kids and Counting is all resting on the success of Jill and Jessa: Counting On. TLC has not said that the show full of the Duggars will return at all, but some are saying it’s possible.

TLC has reportedly lost close to $20 million due to the cancellation of 19 Kids; it’s not like the scandal hasn’t hurt the network as well. If Counting On proves to be a hit, then it’s possible that a reconsideration could end up being looked at.

Matters aren’t being made any better by the fact that Mama June is angry that the Duggars are getting a second chance on TLC while Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was cancelled and done, per Radar Online.

The Duggars are returning to TLC next week; but, so far, it’s not all of them. The network may look and see just how well Jill and Jessa: Counting On performs in the ratings before making a final decision on whether 19 Kids and Counting should come back or not. Still, it’s an issue causing problems in the family and with many fans. Only time will tell if the “circus” continues.
