Diana Davila: Pregnant Store Clerk Kicked In Stomach During Robbery Loses Both Twins, Police Release Video To Help Find Attacker

Diana Davila was working at a Houston convenience store when three men stormed in, demanding money and waiving a gun.

Even though the pregnant Davila did everything the men said, they still beat and kicked her in the stomach, causing her to lose both of her twins. Now police are releasing video of the violent encounter in the hope that someone comes forward to identify the assailants.

The incident took place last week. Karim Chunara, the manager working at M.L. King $1.09 & Discount Store at the time of the robbery, said he pleaded with the robbers to leave Diana Davila alone.

“I was telling them whatever you want, take it, but don’t hit the girl because she is pregnant,” Chunara told ABC 13 in Houston.

But Chunara said the men threatened to shoot him and began robbing other customers while turning their attention to Davila. Chunara said the men “kicked her in the stomach” and that another robber slapped her.

Davila, who was three months along, suffered severe injuries and later found out from her doctor that she had lost both babies.

Diana Davila said she can’t understand why the beating took place, noting that she was willing to give the men whatever money she had.

“They took my life, the life of my babies,” she said.

Now police are turning to the public to help find the men who killed Diana Davila’s unborn twins. They have released video of the brutal attack, showing the men storming into the store and holding others at gunpoint. They terrorize shoppers and elderly customers playing games.

This is not the first disturbing case of an attack on a pregnant woman to make the news in recent weeks. Back in November, a 22-year-old woman from the Bronx was charged with murder after allegedly stabbing her pregnant friend and cutting the unborn baby from the woman’s body.

Angelikque Sutton was due in 12 days when she was stabbed to death inside her home, NBC New York reported. Amazingly, the baby girl was able to survive the attack and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The report noted that police came upon the scene to find the baby already born.

“Police arriving at the scene in the Wakefield neighborhood of the Bronx found three adults with a newborn baby that was wrapped in a jacket. The group directed police to a woman sitting on a staircase steps away, who told the officers that she had just killed someone and stabbed her as many times as she could, sources said.

“The woman, Ashleigh Wade, initially claimed that she had just given birth and requested medical attention, according to the sources.”

But police then found Sutton’s dead body in the home. Wade, who was childhood friends with Sutton and had recently re-connected through Facebook, then admitted she killed the woman but said it was in self-defense.

Wade claimed Sutton came at her with a knife, which she then grabbed and stabbed the pregnant woman. Wade said when she realized Sutton was dead she cut out the unborn baby. Police charged her with two counts of murder, three counts of manslaughter, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

In Houston, police are doing what they can to find information about the men who attacked the pregnant store clerk. They released the video showing their robbery, hoping someone can recognize them by their clothing as the men kept their faces covered throughout the robbery and attack.

Anyone with information on the men who attacked Diana Davila are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. Houston police are offering a cash reward for information that leads to the assailants.
