‘Devastating Tragedy’: Caitlyn Jenner Sued For Fatal Car Crash [Video]

Caitlyn Jenner can’t seem to keep her name out of the news lately, and unfortunately for her, much of the publicity is negative. Most recently, Jenner has been sued by a family involved in a car crash involving Caitlyn Jenner in February of this year in Malibu, California. The car crash proved deadly for one woman involved in the collision.

As most people know, Jenner has only been known as Caitlyn since July, when she came out on the cover of Vanity Fair as a transgender woman.

Before the gender transition, Caitlyn was known to all as Bruce Jenner: Olympian, reality TV star on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and dad.

The fact that Caitlyn Jenner is being sued for a car crash perpetrated by Bruce Jenner may be confusing to some, but in all reality, gender issues aside, Caitlyn and Bruce are one and the same.

In May, CNN reported that Bruce Jenner was sued for the car crash by Dana Redmond and William Howe, the adult stepson and stepdaughter of Kimberly Howe, who was fatally injured in the crash. The lawsuit claims that Mrs. Howe was rear ended by Bruce Jenner, which caused her car to veer into the opposite lane, resulting in a crash with another car.

Alan Nierob, Jenner’s publicist, issued the following statement to the Howe family on behalf of Jenner.

“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy, and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”

According to NBC News, Caitlyn Jenner is now being sued for negligence by the family who crashed into Mrs. Howe’s car. Peter Wolf-Milesi was driving the sport utility vehicle that collided with Kimberly Howe’s car on the Pacific Coast Highway on February 7. Occupants of the car included four Wolf-Milesi family members: Peter, his wife Lea, and their children Nino and Gaetano, along with Lea’s mother, Elga Maurer, reports People. Serious injuries were sustained during the car crash that they attribute to Jenner’s alleged negligence, which is why they have sued.

Most significantly injured was Peter’s one-month-old son, who was unresponsive following the car crash. The lawsuit claims that Peter’s wrists were injured, while his wife endured blunt force trauma that continues to be treated. In addition, the occupants of the SUV have suffered emotional trauma due to the car crash as well.

“The emotional effects of being involved in a collision that has taken the life of another has caused tremendous distress and suffering for the Wolf-Milesi family.”

Peter has enjoyed an impressive career in the music industry as producer, composer, and songwriter. Similarly, his wife Lea has made waves in the fashion industry as a model, and she also has worked as a songwriter, according to Wikipedia.

Though Caitlyn was at first thought to have been traveling at speeds unsafe for traffic, she was later cleared of any charges, including vehicular manslaughter, that she faced. Blair Berk, Caitlyn Jenner’s attorney, was always certain Jenner would be cleared after a thorough investigation was completed.

“We believed from the start that a thorough and objective investigation would clear Caitlyn of any criminal wrongdoing. We are heartened the District Attorney has agreed that even a misdemeanor charge would be inappropriate. A traffic accident, however devastating and heartbreaking when a life is lost, is not necessarily a criminal matter.”

Do you think Caitlyn Jenner should be sued by the others involved in the car crash?
