Kim Kardashian Gives Birth: Kim And Kanye West Welcome Baby Boy
Kim Kardashian gave birth to a baby boy in the morning hours of December 5. According to People Magazine, the reality star and her husband, Kanye West, welcomed their second child, a son, a couple of weeks earlier than expected (the baby was reportedly due on Christmas). The two are said to be overjoyed and everyone is “doing well” after the delivery.
The news was announced officially by Kim herself, who posted the following message on her website.
“Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West welcomed the arrival of their son this morning. Mother and son are doing well.”
Further details about the baby — like his name or his weight — were not immediately made available. However, People Magazine did confirm one very important piece of information. The couple did not choose a “directional” name for their son. While “South” and “Easton” were widely rumored to be the top picks for new baby boy West, the couple reportedly chose something different.
“I don’t think we’ll go another direction,” Kim said previously.
Many believe that Kim and Kanye have chosen something biblical.
The truth is, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may not even have a name picked out at this point. According to TMZ, the couple hadn’t decided on a name and were going to wait until they meet their son before making the final decision. It is presumed that once the couple decides on a moniker and wants to share that news with the world, they will do so. Fans are keeping their eyes on Kim’s website as they anxiously await the next update.
This little boy was welcomed into the Kardashian-West family after years of unsuccessful attempts at conceiving a baby. Kim had been under the care of fertility doctors and was doing everything that she could to get pregnant. Kim was very candid about her struggle to get pregnant, and much of it was documented on previous episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Kim talked about doctors visits, scheduled sex sessions, and almost everything else you can imagine. The couple wanted nothing more than to get pregnant again — making today even more special for them both.
Kim and Kanye have a daughter, North, 2, who is excited to be a big sister. In order to prepare her for the “shock” of no longer being an only child, the couple did a few things, including reading books about having a sibling.
“We read books with her about getting a baby brother and a new sibling all the time! We always say goodnight to baby brother,” Kim previously wrote on her website.
Kim Kardashian previously opened up about some serious health problems that she was worried would change her life after giving birth. Kim took to her website to let her fans know that she was a bit anxious about giving birth because of the risks that she faced after delivering her son.
“With the issues I had last time, my risk of having preclampsia and placenta acreeta are increased and there’s not a whole lot I can do to prevent it, so my anxiety is a little high leading up to my delivery. In a very rare case, I might need a hysterectomy after delivery if my condition is severe enough, but luckily my doctor doesn’t think this will happen.”
No word yet on whether or not Kim Kardashian suffered any complications or if she needed any kind of emergency surgery following her son’s birth. The message indicating that mother and son were “doing well” does suggest that Kim is okay regardless of what may have happened after childbirth.
