Sean And Catherine Lowe Reveal Relationship Issues On ‘Marriage Boot Camp’

Viewers of The Bachelor know that, even at the end of the season when a winner is chosen, the relationship is not made in heaven. On rare occasion, the couple sticks it out — lasting not only months, but years after the cameras leave, and even tying the knot.

One such Bachelor couple is Sean Lowe and Catherine Guidici, who married after Sean chose Catherine to win season 17 of the show. They not only stayed together, but married on live television, on January 26, 2014. Now, the couple is headed to Marriage Boot Camp to reveal that not everything is perfect in their union.

Catherine told People last month that the show reveals a different side of the well-known reality couple. On Friday, the magazine reported that, in a preview for the show’s premiere, Lowe admits his struggles with the couple’s arguments at home. Sometimes, he walks out.

“There have been times that I have said, ‘I just can’t do this anymore.’ It’s in the heat of the moment. I don’t mean that I can’t do marriage anymore, I mean that I can’t do the fighting anymore.”

But if fans are worried that the couple’s public therapy sessions spell trouble for their marriage, they need not be. They recently spoke to Entertainment Tonight about Ben Higgins, who is due to star in the next installment of The Bachelor this January. Sean said he is hopeful Ben’s season will end with a proposal — one that sticks.

“I think he’s sincere in the fact that he really wants to find a wife. I think he’s a great guy looking for a good girl with good morals. So I hope one of the 25 is a good match so he can join the married club with us.”

Catherine added that Ben is “genuine.”

This is the second time this year that Sean and Catherine have been open on television about their married life. In July, the couple appeared along with fellow Bachelor alums Molly and Jason Mesnick on an episode of Celebrity Wife Swap. Sean faced backlash from fans, who objected to the portrayed treatment of his wife.

As People reported, Lowe responded on social media, saying he’d suffered from poor editing and that Catherine would never put up with a “to-do list,” from him — one detail from the Celebrity Wife Swap episode.

“Yeah… so that whole ‘Wife Swap’ thing made me look like a complete j***a*s but I guess that’s the risk you run when you agree to take part in something like that. Thanks to those who saw through it all and offered words of support.”

Catherine defended her husband, saying, “TV has been great to us and sometimes it hasn’t, but I am always confident knowing Sean’s heart is good.”

According to WeTV, Catherine and Sean Lowe are joined on this season of Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars by Mama June and Sugar Bear from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, as well as couples from Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, Basketball Wives: LA and Bad Girls Club.

Sean told People that he was reluctant to do the program, but Catherine convinced him to stay. Sean credited her for carrying him through the difficult two weeks of Marriage Boot Camp, and said that alone strengthened their marriage.
