NBA News: Stephen Curry Predicts Warriors Will Lose Before Panthers

The latest NBA news has Stephen Curry predicting that the Golden State Warriors will lose a game before the Carolina Panthers do, according to ESPN.

Stephen Curry Predicts Loss

Dell Curry was on the roster when the Charlotte Hornets joined the NBA in 1988. That happened to be the same year that Stephen Curry was born. Thanks to his sharpshooting skills and reliability, Dell ended up spending a decade with the Hornets. That meant that Stephen spent his formative years in Charlotte. It makes all the sense in the world that he would be a huge fan of sports teams in the area. When it comes to the NFL, Stephen isn’t shy about letting people know that he is a fan of the Carolina Panthers.

Both teams are doing rather well right now. Neither have been defeated yet this season. When asked by reporters who he thinks will lose first, Curry stated that the Warriors will more than likely lose a game before the Panthers do. The 6’3″, 190-pound guard added that he does not want to see Carolina losing a game before February, which would mean that quarterback Cam Newton, linebacker Luke Kuechly, and cornerback Josh Norman are celebrating a Super Bowl victory in Santa Clara, California.

Golden State Warriors Losing

We are about a fourth of the way through the NBA regular season, and the Golden State Warriors look absolutely dominant. They are sitting on a 19-0 record, and their victories have mostly appeared decisive. Stephen Curry has leaped passed New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant, and he is now neck and neck with Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James when it comes to the title of being called the best player in the NBA.

Based on their upcoming schedule, it is hard to predict too many losses for Golden State. The earlier that they might lose is when the Warriors host the Cavaliers in an NBA Finals rematch on Christmas. If they manage to get past James, guard Kyrie Irving, and forward Kevin Love, then the next obstacle might be the surprising Dallas Mavericks. Superstar forward Dirk Nowitzki has his team playing well. The Warriors should definitely not overlook the additions of guard Deron Williams and center Zaza Pachulia when the two teams play in Dallas on December 30.

Carolina Panthers Losing

The most surprising team in the NFL is easily the Carolina Panthers. Very few predicted that they would have a winning season. Even fewer thought they would remain undefeated in December. Quarterback Cam Newton has developed into a legitimate MVP candidate. Luke Kuechly, who might be the best linebacker in the league, runs the second ranked defense, thanks in large part to the sudden rise of Josh Norman as one of the top cornerbacks around. Their play has lifted the rest of their teammates.

Looking at the schedule for the Panthers, an undefeated season is definitely possible. Carolina plays the Atlanta Falcons twice but the team has been struggling after a white hot start. The New Orleans Saints seem like they’ve checked out for the season. Jameis Winston is coming into his own but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should be a winnable game for the Panthers. It’s not wise to underestimate Tom Coughlin but the New York Giants seem like a team that Newton, Kuechly, and Norman can defeat.

Do you think Stephen Curry will be right in his prediction of the Carolina Panthers winning the Super Bowl this year?
