Blake Shelton Says He’s Thankful For Gwen Stefani As ‘Voice’ Coach Pharrell Williams Calls Stefani ‘Free’

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani may have spent the Thanksgiving holiday apart, but that doesn’t mean the Voice coaches are any less thankful for their new-found relationship.

In fact, when Blake talked to Entertainment Tonight on Monday, he told the media outlet exactly what he’s thankful for.

“I’m thankful for Gwen for tons of reasons, but mostly because she makes us all look a whole lot better on this show.”

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been dating for a little more than a month after each split from their previous spouses. Gwen and Gavin Rossdale, her husband of more than 13 years, split in August, while Blake Shelton and his ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, made their divorce public in July.

Blake wasn’t the only Voice coach who spoke about Gwen when he shared what he was thankful for. Pharrell Williams also spoke about Stefani, saying that he’s happy to see her in a “free place.”

“I am grateful that Gwen is in the most free place that I feel like she’s ever been since I’ve known her as a human being. Not just creatively, but just as a human being, she’s floating right now.”

The “Happy” singer also spoke about Blake, saying that he’s seen Shelton smiling a lot more lately.

“I’m grateful that Blake is smiling these days and inspired as well musically.”

There was a lot of gushing when the coaches were asked about things they were grateful for, but it wasn’t all mushy hearts and clouds. Shelton had to throw a dig in at coach Adam Levine, who has been a part of the show since its inception in 2011.

Of the Maroon 5 singer, Shelton told Entertainment Tonight, “I’m thankful that Adam grew his hair back. He was starting to look like Squidward but now he looks more like Eddie Munster again.”

The Entertainment Tonight interview with Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams comes on the heels of a similar interview done with Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani. After that interview, Gwen faced a media firestorm after she told the camera “I love you, too, Blake — ish.”

The comment was in response to a dig from Levine, who said “Blake is just my buddy. I love you, Blake. Kinda-ish.”

After Stefani made the “I love you” comment, Adam immediately warned Stefani of the impending media attention she would receive as a result of the comment about her boyfriend, telling her that the comment would be taken out of context. Levine can be seen saying, “You f**king screwed yourself on that one,” to which Stefani responds, “Was that dumb?”

In the same Entertainment Tonight interview, Adam goes on to say that he’s thankful for the friendships he’s made while working with NBC’s The Voice — he’s even thankful for his friendship with Blake.

“I feel like I’ve met these people that I’ve become friends with that also kind of do what I do, which is so cool. And I’ve made incredible friendships with Pharrell and Gwen and everyone I work on the show with, and it’s been super cool. Even Blake.”

Stefani added that she’s thankful she’s gotten to known Levine because “he’s such a good person, he’s literally so smart and he’s so witty and talented, and I’ve just learned so much.”

What do you think of the Voice coaches comments about the things they’re thankful for? Are you surprised that Blake Shelton said he’s thankful for his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani? Why or why not?
