Paul Walker Remembered On The Two-Year Anniversary Of His Death

It has been two years since Paul Walker died in a fiery automobile accident. However, his death remains as fresh as ever for those who were closest to him, including his Fast and Furious co-stars who were more like family than fellow actors.

Earlier today, Vin Diesel payed tribute to his fallen friend on Facebook.

“No matter where you are in this universe…You will always be, my brother,” he wrote.

Tyrese also took to social media to remember Walker on the two-year anniversary of his death, sharing a photo of him and his “brother” on Instagram.

“It’s still not easy…… 2 years ago today… We lost our brother….. Today I’m just gonna lay low and process….. Clarity through Prayers and perspective is what I always seek and pray for…. With a heavy heart I post this….. Please continue to pray for the Walker family and his real friends who was with him every single day…. They’re some of the best and strongest people I know…… I know you’re in heaven smiling and rooting for us all….. #RIH ( Rest in heaven )”

Paul Walker died on November 30, 2013, after the car he was riding in hit several trees and burst into flames. Since then, his family and friends have struggled to move on. Earlier this month, Diesel accepted the Hollywood Blockbuster Award during the Hollywood Film Awards and dedicated the award to Walker, the Record reported.

“It’s impossible not to receive an award and not feel emotional,” Vin said at the time. “It is hard to celebrate Furious 7. I said I wasn’t going to talk about Paul, but when you have had a brother like that it is impossible not to.”

Diesel was then joined on the stage with his co-stars Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez, who referred to Walker as their “angel” friend.

“Thank you for recognizing that angel. The world is a little lonelier without him,” Diesel continued. “But I know he’s looking down at us, and smiling, because all of you have acknowledged him. This is for you, Pablo.”

Last week, Paul Walker’s father, Paul Walker III, filed a negligence and wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche, claiming that the 2005 Carrera GT Walker died in “lacked safety features that are found on well-designed racing cars or even Porsche’s least-expensive road cars—features that could have prevented the accident, or, at a minimum, allowed Paul Walker to survive the crash.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Walker III’s lawsuit comes after the actor’s daughter, Meadow Walker, filed a similar suit against the car company.

Meadow filed the original wrongful death suit against Porsche in Los Angeles County Superior Court in September, claiming that Porsche failed to install an electronic stability control system in its Carrera GT, even though they knew the car had a history of control issues.

According to Meadow’s lawsuit, the seat belt “snapped Walker’s torso back with thousands of pounds of force,” which resulted in Walker breaking his clavicle, ribs, and pelvis. The way the seat belt was constructed caused it to “trap” Walker in a position where he “remained alive until the vehicle erupted into flames one minute and twenty seconds later.”

The fire was caused by another defect. According to Meadow’s lawsuit, the “rubber fuel lines that lacked break-free fittings to automatically shut down the fuel flow,” resulting in Walker breathing “soot into his trachea while the Porsche Carrera GT burned.”

While Porsche has yet to respond to Walker III’s lawsuit, they did respond to Meadow’s, claiming that Paul was responsible for his own death.

“He [Paul Walker] chose to conduct himself in a manner so as to expose himself to such perils, dangers and risks, thus assuming all the risks involved in using the vehicle,” the company said. “The subject 2005 Carrera GT was abused and altered after having been placed into the stream of commerce in a manner that was not reasonably forseeable to [Porsche].”
