“Pillamina” A Giant Birth Control Pack, Chases Romney on Campaign Trail [video]

“Pillamina”videos are going viral. The political division of Planned Parenthood is apparently not holding back with the disdain the non-profit group feels towards presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. In an effort to remind voters of Romney’s opposition to President Barack Obama’s contraception policies, an individual costumed as a giant container of birth control pills is following the Romney campaign around the country, according to The Blaze.

The “Pillamina” events are orchestrated by the Planned Parenthood Action Fund to “frame birth control as an economic issue for women,” according to the representative Cecile Richards. The Planned Parenthood representative also remarked in a statement republished on The Hill that the issue is something that President Obama “clearly understands” and according to Richards, Mitt Romney “simply doesn’t.”

In response to the banning of the word “vagina” and “vasectomies” on the Michigan house floor during an abortion debated, “Pillamina” made an appearance in the state to promote Obama’s contraception mandate, according to information from Planned Parenthood republished on The Hill. “Pillamina” protestors marched from the Troy Community Center to a Romney fundraiser at the Troy Marriott yesterday, the Troy Patch notes. Planned Parenthood of Michigan invitations to the event called for supporters to “stand up against” Romney’s “out-of-touch and harmful views on women’s health,” according to excerpts also republished on the Troy Patch.

The Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) organized a rally to coincide with Planned Parenthood’s “Pillamina” appearance. A release from MDP representative Kevin Hrit stated “We are organizing a rally to oppose Mitt Romney’s million dollar fundraiser in Troy. We’ll be joined by friends of labor, Obama supporters and anyone who supports the American Dream,” reports the Troy Patch.
