Miranda Lambert Tells George Strait What Kind Of Tattoo He Should Get, Opens Up About Divorce

Country music rebel Miranda Lambert is no stranger when it comes to tattoos, which is why George Strait asked her opinion on where he should get his next one, and what it should be.

George’s question came during an episode of CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown, Country Rebel reports. During the episode, in a segment called “Celebrity Chain Mail,” country artists were able to ask their fellow country music singers whatever they wanted. American Idol alum Carrie Underwood asked George Strait for marriage advice, which is fitting because he has been married to his wife Norma for 45 years.

“Well Carrie, being the philosopher that I am, marriage counselor that I am, marriage is tough,” George told Carrie. “It’s the give and take, and it’s the constant give and take, and I think, of course, love is the most important thing. Everybody has tough times. I think I’m very lucky to have had someone to put up with me for this many years.”

It was then Strait’s turn to ask a question, and he turned to the lovely Miranda Lambert to get her advice on some new body ink.

“I was thinkin’ about gettin’ a new tattoo somewhere,” Strait told Lambert, “but I’m just not sure where.”

Lambert, a bit taken aback by the question, just smiled and told him what she thought in true Miranda Lambert fashion.

“Oh. My. God. George!” she said with a grin. “Okay, well, hmm. I think you should get the state of Texas and heart where San Antonio is right over your heart, and then also really small in there put ‘I Love Miranda!'”

Miranda Lambert is all smiles nowadays, and recently opened up about her divorce from Blake Shelton for the first time since their split. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Blake and Miranda announced their decision to separate in July. The later followed through with a quickie divorce.

“Marriage is a tough business, and we gave it our best college try,” Miranda said during a new interview with Cosmopolitan.“I had a great relationship with an amazing man,” the 32-year-old singer added, “so I know what good is. I have a great launching pad for the future. I will never take that for granted.”

While Miranda isn’t ready to jump back into the dating scene, she is still enjoying her life and trying to live each day to the fullest.

“Some of that might mean nights on my porch crying, drinking whiskey, and going, ‘Man, this sucks right now,'” Lambert told the magazine, adding that she will still be continuing to focus on her music career.

“I feel the sexiest when I’m in my element, which is playing music,” she said. “It doesn’t really matter what I’m wearing necessarily or where I’m at, just on stage with my band playing music is sort of where I feel like I belong and that makes me feel sexy.”

Miranda has been staying busy touring, and “glamping” with her friends. However, that doesn’t mean she can’t make time for her family. According to CMT, Lambert was able to make it back to her home in Texas just in time to celebrate Thanksgiving. While she may not have a man waiting on her, her mother made sure she had a welcome home surprise. Sitting on the kitchen counter was a “mason jar full of fresh flowers, a handwritten note from her mom, a few bottles of very nice Wilson Creek red wine and a basket with an assortment of the kinds of food.”
