The 24-year-old singer is engaged to another man, according to Realty Today. Yes, that’s right, you’re read that correctly! Ed Sheeran announced the news on Thanksgiving, claiming he is now engaged to singer James Blunt.

But it seems that Ed Sheeran has mistaken Thanksgiving with April Fools’ Day, since the engagement news is a joke that the singer played on his fans on social media.

To seemingly prove the point, Ed Sheeran posted a picture on his Instagram account on November 26 of him holding hands with the 41-year-old Blunt. The caption said “we would like to announce our engagement.”

The picture was taken during Australia’s Aria Awards, which took place on November 25, and the two singers were just having fun on the red carpet.

Ed Sheeran is currently dating Cherry Seaborn, with their relationship starting in September. Six months before Seaborn, the “Thinking Out Loud” singer dated Athina Andrelos. It all started with Ed Sheeran being overheard telling his mates about dating Seaborn during their Labor Day weekend, according to Hollywood Life.

Ed Sheeran and Seaborn spent the holiday weekend in Las Vegas along with Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris. Swift’s boyfriend later shared a group selfie with Ed and his girlfriend with the capture “What a crew at Wet Republic today.”

Before announcing the engagement news, Ed Sheeran was photographed dancing with Kylie Minogue, as reported by Mirror.

The 47-year-old Kylie and Ed Sheeran danced the tango on the red carpet at Australia’s Aria awards, according to the British news source. Earlier before showing off his moves with the Australian pop princess, Ed Sheeran joked with James Blunt, his alleged future husband, about herpes.

Before dancing with Kylie, Ed Sheeran shared the groundbreaking news that James Blunt gave Ed herpes.

“I went to one of James’ gigs when I was 14 and stole his bottle of Corona.”
