Chris Brown’s ‘I Can’t Win’ About Karrueche Tran And Rihanna? Fans Speculate On Twitter

Chris Brown may be eager to move on from his former relationships with Rihanna and Karrueche Tran, but that doesn’t mean Brown isn’t using his past romances as inspiration for his music.

Earlier this week, Chris Brown surprised fans with the release of a 34-track mixtape on Black Friday amid confirmation that Brown has decided to push back the release of his upcoming album, Royalty. The mixtape, titled Before The Party, features collaborations with Wiz Khalifa, Tyga, and Chris Brown’s ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, while giving fans a glimpse into what type of hits they can expect to see when Brown drops Royalty on December 18.

While Chris Brown gave fans plenty of new music to hold them over until Royalty‘s release next month, there are a few songs in particular from Brown’s new mixtape that have fans speculating about who served as an inspiration for Brown’s heartfelt tracks.

In one of Before The Party‘s tracks, titled “I Can’t Win,” Chris Brown opens up about his struggle in choosing between a girl he loves and their imperfect relationship.

“You go back and forth / With the lies, never compromise / Girl if you love me, better prove it / I can’t win, I can’t win for losing.”

The lyrics from Chris Brown’s “I Can’t Win” instantly sparked speculation regarding whether the track was inspired by Karrueche Tran or Rihanna, especially given the nature of Brown’s tumultuous past with both ex-girlfriends.

Hollywood Life speculates that “I Can’t Win” was inspired by Chris Brown’s former relationship with Karrueche Tran after the model learned that Brown had fathered a child with another woman.

Despite the speculation, fans were quick to point out that “I Can’t Win” was actually intended to appear on Chris Brown’s X album over two years ago, meaning that the tension between Karrueche and Chris over Brown’s alleged infidelity had not yet occurred.

Rather, fans seem to think that “I Can’t Win” is inspired by the infamous love triangle that previously existed between Chris, Rihanna, and Karrueche Tran, leaving some fans to reflect on the trio’s headline-making past.

“‘I can’t win’…was definitely made when Chris brown was dating both Rihanna and Karrueche lmao,” one fan wrote. Another fan added, “I honestly think Chris Brown wrote I can’t win for Rihanna but I understand where he’s coming from.”

While Chris Brown has not confirmed the speculation suggesting that “I Can’t Win” is about his on-again, off-again relationship with Rihanna. Karrueche Tran previously opened up about her involvement in Chris Brown’s love triangle with herself and Rihanna in an interview conducted earlier this year.

During Karrueche’s revealing interview with life coach Iyanla Vanzant for Oprah’s OWN network, Karrueche reflects on the moment that she knew Chris Brown was lying to her about the nature of his friendship with Rihanna.

When asked if Chris Brown told her about his friendship with Rihanna, Karrueche admitted, “Yes, because I was under the impression that it was a friend-type of…not a friend, but it wasn’t what it became to be.”

“I knew,” Karrueche admitted. “I didn’t want to believe it.”

While rumors of a reconciliation between Rihanna and Chris Brown continue to plague the former couple, Chris Brown recently shot down fans’ hopes of a reunion between himself and either Rihanna or Karrueche Tran.

In an interview with Hot 97 conducted earlier this week, Chris Brown admits that he isn’t interested in having another “public relationship.”

“I think for me a public relationship is only good for certain things,” Chris said. “It’s only good for people’s approval. It’s not what I’m trying to do.”

Chris Brown continues, “I think if I were to ever settle down and focus on a relationship with another female, she would have to…There would have to be certain things she would have to understand. My daughter comes first, my career comes second.”
