Denise Richards Spends Thanksgiving With Children After Charlie Sheen Comes Clean About HIV

Denise Richards has remained quiet in the days since Charlie Sheen revealed he was HIV positive, but on Thanksgiving, she and her daughters stepped out in Los Angeles for a good cause. As rumors continue to swirl regarding Sheen and the women he may have impacted, Denise Richards and her girls, Sam, 11, and Lola, 10, served Thanksgiving meals to the homeless.

According to a November 27 report by Radar Online, fellow volunteers claimed Denise Richards was “so graceful” as she and her kids cared for the less fortunate.

On Instagram, Denise Richards shared a photo of her daughters standing behind a buffet table, along with the caption, “Proud of my girls for helping out others..serving homeless families & friends Thanksgiving dinner.. Grateful we can help & give back.”

Denise Richards was briefly married to Sheen in the early 2000 but filed for divorce while she was still pregnant with their second daughter. Since then, Sheen has engaged in a number of relationships with other women, including a marriage to Brooke Mueller for a few years, and in 2011, he discovered he is HIV positive.

Although Denise Richards and her children were not impacted by Sheen’s health revelation, many were concerned about Mueller and her two sons, since Sheen was diagnosed with HIV during the time they were still married.

Prior to Sheen’s Today show appearance, Denise Richards appeared on the podcast series Allegedly With Theo Von and Matthew Cole Weiss, where she revealed details about her up-and-down relationship with her former husband.

“Charlie, when I married him, he wasn’t a bad boy,” Denise Richards explained, via a report by Perez Hilton on November 17. “He was sober for almost four years. He was a very different person. His lifestyle was very, very different. He was a former bad boy, I guess.”

As Denise Richards continues on with her relationship with Sheen, due to their sharing two children together, it hasn’t always been easy. As fans of the couple may recall, Sheen has dissed Denise Richards on Twitter on occasion and has even made negative comments about her father, Irv. Still, according to Denise Richards, she doesn’t take things Sheen says to heart when she knows he’s been struggling with addiction.

“I have a lot of empathy for anyone that struggles with addiction. I’m not going to judge the choices they made under the influence. I can only judge the person I’m meeting and I think sometimes past experiences make who you are so I just went off the person I had met and gotten to know and fell in love with. He was very different.”

In addition to her personal struggles with Sheen, Denise Richards said she’s also experienced career trouble due to her relationship and ties to the troubled actor.

As she explained, “I was surprised how much that affected me work wise… I was perceived as being a lunatic and crazy. There are people that have [since] come up to me and apologized for drinking the Kool-aid… It was hard.”

Denise Richards continued on in her podcast interview, revealing her relationship with Sheen continues to have its ups and downs and adding that she’s always going to be there for Sheen when he needs her.

“I believe we move past your s**t. Don’t sweat the small stuff. For better or worse, he’s going to be in my life for the rest of my life so I personally like to keep the peace,” Denise Richards explained.
