George And Amal Clooney: Adoption Plans In The Works? Amal Ditches Ring

Amal Clooney and star husband George have been the subject of baby rumor news for some time now. The first reports of the possible pregnancy came back in October when OK! Magazine shared words of a source, claiming that the gorgeous human rights lawyer was showing a bit.

“Amal Clooney is always making headlines for her super skinny figure, but this time everyone’s buzzing about her burgeoning baby bump! After sparking pregnancy rumors at the premiere of Our Brand is Crisis on October 27, OK! magazine can exclusively reveal that George Clooney’s wife is pregnant!”

The claims of a pregnant Amal have since been debunked by the reps of the star couple, and there has been no word as to whether the couple is trying for a baby in the near future.

Although there is no talk of the Clooney’s trying for a little one, rumors that the couple may be considering adopting is still a hot topic this month. George is reportedly ready to expand the family and has Amal considering adoption. The International Business Times recently reported in regards to George’s adoration of his wife.

“George never expected to find the happiness he has with Amal so is now open to the possibility of becoming a family man.”

An insider who spoke with the Daily Mail recently relayed how George is extremely eager to experience the fun of parenthood much like his close pals Brade Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, and Cindy Crawford.

News of adoption comes a year after the couple seemed intent on helping out a child from a war-torn country, according to the Daily Mail, and demonstrates the nature of the couple, who stand behind helping those who are unable to fend for themselves or are less fortunate.

“[T]he 53-year-old Gravity star and the 36-year-old British-Lebanese lawyer are looking to adopt an orphan from a war-torn country. A source told Mail Online that the couple are hoping to use the adoption to highlight the plight of orphans in countries like Syria.”

The publication, however, goes on to indicate that no matter how inspired and good the couple’s intentions were to adopt a Syrian child, their efforts would likely come to nothing, as the Syrian adoption laws are quite strict.

“It’s unlikely they will be able to [adopt] in Syria under American law, as the US embassy in Damascus states that Syria ‘as a Shari’ah law country, does not recognize or provide for adoptions of Muslim children. Several attempts by U.S. prospective adoptive parents have failed.”

German authorities are expecting 10,000 migrants to arrive on trains today, mostly from Hungary via Austria, on top of the approximately 20,000 that have arrived in the last 48 hours. Germany is distributing the migrants across the country and is struggling to register and house them. Many of the migrants are coming from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq and are reaching western Europe via the Balkans. (Photo by Philipp Guelland/Getty Images)

A year later, it’s unclear as to whether George and Amal are continuing to set their sights on adopting a Syrian child. However, there seems to be a solid possibility that the two are certainly focused on adoption in general. The International Business Times relays words of a source who has witnessed the excitement George and Amal share about expanding their family.

“They’ve already started preparing and told pals how they’ve built matching baby wings in both homes, complete with a nursery, a baby spa, a playroom, children’s library and quarters for their nanny.”

As for the couple’s relationship, it is going strong, and the pair seems more in love than ever. Amal, however, caused a buzz by removing her engagement ring as of late. This sparked questions on the subject. The reasons for the removal are, in fact, understandable, as the Daily Mail notes.

“The human rights lawyer, 37, who married George Clooney in September last year, is said to be seeking a simple platinum band instead, after fearing that the hugely expensive sparkler was too ostentatious for her work as a human rights lawyer.”
