Leah Messer: ‘Teen Mom 2’ Jenelle Evans Wishes She’d Come Clean About Her Rumored Drug Addiction?

Leah Messer may have just been exposed by her Teen Mom 2 co-star, Jenelle Evans. During a new interview with Radar Online on November 25, Evans reportedly encouraged Leah Messer to discuss her addiction issues with fans, as opposed to continuing to deny her drug problem.

According to Radar Online, Leah Messer has been struggling with a “not-so-secret pill problem,” and although she entered treatment for 30 days earlier this year, Leah Messer publicly claimed her treatment was for anxiety and depression — not for an addiction to drugs.

Leah Messer has continuously denied having a drug problem, even after she seemed to be caught nodding out on Teen Mom 2, but Evans, who battled an addiction to heroin years ago, reportedly thinks it’s time she come clean.

“I think she should [discuss her addiction battle],” Leah Messer’s co-star said. “But at the same time, no one can force you to do anything. You have to be ready for it… You can’t force people to go to rehab. If you do force them, they’ll do it like, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it to make you happy’ and then they’ll get out and probably do drugs again. They have to be ready themselves.”

The report went on to reveal that Leah Messer’s co-star felt that if she could get her life back on track, she could regain custody of her 5-year-old twins, Ali and Aleeah Simms.

“There is always time to change,” she explained.

Throughout the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, Leah Messer’s behavior seemed questionable to many viewers, and to her ex-husbands, Corey Simms and Jeremy Calvert, both of whom noted a drug problem during filming. During one scene, Simms and his wife, Miranda, were seen meeting with Leah Messer at a local restaurant, where Simms revealed his feelings about her allegedly hiding her “drug problem.” Then, during a conversation with Simms later in the season, Calvert specified Leah Messer’s rumored issue, claiming she was dealing with a “prescription drug problem.”

When Leah Messer typically shuts down the idea of a possible addiction to drugs, she did admit to feeling she was becoming dependent upon her pain medication during a conversation with her mother before leaving for rehab on Teen Mom 2 Season 6.

Below is what Leah Messer said of her possible drug dependency, via People Magazine.

“When I was hurting so bad, I’d take the medication, because I could get up and go. I could take care of my kids. My back wasn’t hurting. I told you guys, ‘I’ve got this medication. I feel like I’m becoming dependent. I can’t take this medication.’ I stopped taking the medication.”

Leah Messer then spoke of leaving her three children, telling her mother, “I have to leave my babies for a month, and I haven’t cried yet… I know I have to do this for them. I know I do, because the person I used to be, the happy person I used to be, is fading away.”

Following the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, Leah Messer’s ex-husband was granted primary custody of her two daughters, Ali and Aleeah, due to her alleged failure to transport the children to school on time. According to an In Touch Weekly report at the time, it was noted that Leah Messer’s behavior had gotten worse in the months since Simms filed for full custody of their children.

The report also claimed Leah Messer’s second husband may also file for full custody of their daugher, 2-year-old Adalynn.
