Donate to diabetes research! And get these four highly sugary Wendy’s Frostys free! I’m … not sure fast food chain Wendy’s has quite got this fundraising thing down.
The sign above was snapped by Consumerist reader Chris, and promises anybody who gives a dollar towards beating diabetes four small Frostys, a (delicious, I can confirm) dairy-like treat that comes packed with sugar.
In fact, Frostys are exactly the kind of thing that, I dunno, COULD CAUSE TYPE 2 DIABETES in anybody who scarfed too many of them.
The Consumerist loaded up the Wendy’s website, and found that a small Frosty contains 42 grams of sugar, or – crap! – 10.5 teaspoons of sweetness.
Their heart was in the right place. Maybe.

You're totally wrong. Type 1 diabetes is not caused by eating Frostys or anything else. It is an autoimmune disorder & JDRF is a nonprofit working to fund research to cure it.

My wife read something about trials for a medication to reverse type 1 diabetes. Something to do with the tuberculosis immunization. Not sure the details.

Sugar causes Type 1 Diabetes. Umm? Someone needs to do a little research before they open their mouth. I know you're trying to make a joke, but you're actually wrong.
Posting information you don't know anything is, I dunno, EXACTLY WHAT KEEPS YOU FROM GETTING A JOB AS A REAL JOURNALIST.

Have you seen the artificial pancreas? It test the blood every 10 mins and gives insulin when needed. Looks promising.
