Lamar Odom Health Update: Kardashian Lying About ‘Extensive Brain Damage?’

Lamar Odom isn’t doing as well as fans would hope. While many believed Lamar Odom could make a full recovery after reportedly suffering a drug overdose on October 13, a couple of new reports seem to hint otherwise.

“[Lamar Odom]’s still having a lot of trouble speaking,” an insider told Radar Online on November 24 of Lamar Odom’s current status. “[Lamar Odom] really only ever mumbles, and can barely string a few words together. It’s obvious he has extensive brain damage.”

Last month, after spending days partying at Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada, Lamar Odom was found unconscious by staff and immediately taken to a nearby hospital. After falling into a coma, several of Lamar Odom’s organs begin to fail, but luckily, three days later, he awoke from his coma and his organs began functioning as usual.

Upon learning of Lamar Odom’s hospitalization, Khloe Kardashian, his estranged wife, boarded a private jet with her mother, Kris Jenner, and sister Kim and flew to Las Vegas to be by his side. In the days that followed, Kardashian stayed by Lamar Odom’s side as he recovered, and even after he was transported to Los Angeles, Kardashian dedicated her time to supporting her former partner.

Although Lamar Odom supporters continue to keep their spirits high and their thoughts positive, Radar Online‘s source claims the Kardashian family has given false hope. As they reportedly continue to document Lamar Odom’s health crisis for upcoming episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kardashian has began promoting her new book, Strong Looks Better Naked, and while her family is said to be acting as if everything is okay, it is reportedly far from it.

“[Lamar Odom]’s not really himself anymore.”

“[Lamar Odom] has made some progress, but his cognitive impairment is making life very challenging,” an insider added to People Magazine on November 24.

According to the report, 36-year-old Lamar Odom is not able to walk unassisted, and continues to struggle to communicate verbally. As People Magazine revealed, Lamar Odom’s ongoing issues have been attributable to “oxygen deprivation and the strokes he suffered following his overdose.”

Although a full recovery isn’t completely out of the question, especially considering Lamar Odom has already recovered further than many expected when he was first hospitalized, a source close to Khloe claimed Lamar Odom “will likely need significant help completing everyday tasks for the foreseeable future.”

“[Lamar Odom] won’t likely leave the hospital for a long time, and when he does, he will need full time care. He can’t take care of himself.”

Lamar Odom has been stationed at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles since late last month. And recently, Radar Online claimed the Kardashians filmed scenes for their show at the hospital. On November 12, the site claimed the family had snuck hand-held camcorders into the facility in an effort to capture key moments for the show.

A source also claimed the family had filmed Lamar Odom at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, prior to his transfer to L.A.

“It’s [a] s**t show. The Kardashians are trying to run everything,” the Radar Online source explained. “They walked into the hospital with cameras rolling. It was shocking, but hardly a surprise. He isn’t signed up for the show or anything, but that doesn’t matter to them!”

Keeping Up With The Kardashians Season 11 airs on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. on the E! Network. So far, Lamar Odom has not been seen or mentioned.
