Wes Welker Fight: Patriots WR Reportedly Involved in Pre-Wedding Scuffle

The New York Post is reporting that Patriots star receiver Wes Welker was nearly arrested Friday (June 15) after he and a group of his close friends allegedly got into a physical altercation with the security guards at a private event in Aspen, Colo.

According to the Post, Welker — who is engaged to marry former model Anna Burns — and his crew were on an “unofficial bachelor party” when the group attempted to sneak into an event sponsored by Patrón tequila.

Apparently “security tried to subdue the group” and a little melee nearly erupted before the 5-foot-9, 185-pound Welker needed to be “physically restrained” before being kicked off the property along with his crew.

Following the ordeal, Aspen police stated there were no arrests made but confirmed there was a record of a “lecture and release” incident at the Aspen eatery Friday night. Authorities couldn’t confirm if Welker and his posse were involved.

Despite the alleged scuffle, Welker’s mood seemed chipper based on the content of his frequent tweets throughout the weekend as he attended several events at the 30th annual Aspen Food & Wine Classic.

“Beautiful day in Aspen. Workout, eat, bike ride, eat, massage, eat, and go to bed,” Wes posted via Twitter. “Love this place!”

Wes Welker also tweeted to share his excitement about his upcoming coming wedding, which will reportedly go down at Aspen’s Steakhouse 316 this upcoming weekend.

“Getting married in 6 days and so fired up about the reception…..” the 31-year-old wrote. “Oh yeah, and marrying the most beautiful girl in the world!”
