WWE News: Update On The Health Of Randy Orton, Now Out Of WrestleMania 32?

WWE Superstar Randy Orton has been out for a while after sustaining yet another injury about a month ago. Orton had been feeling a bit off, and one night while taking out the trash, he pretty much took out his shoulder. While Orton does have hypermobile shoulders, which cause his shoulders to go in and out of place, this injury was said to have been much worse than a regular shoulder issue for Orton.

Randy has been lucky in that he has remained fairly healthy since his last injury. He takes a bus now from city to city, where he can take it easy after his match each night. There, he ices his shoulders among other places in need of treatment, and can relax, not having to drive or rush to catch a plane. This has worked out very well for Orton and has helped him immensely. As a result, fewer injuries. Although they do happen even still.

The idea as of a few weeks ago was that Randy Orton would have to get surgery and would be out nearly 5 months, which actually worked out very well for him, as WrestleMania 32 happened to line right up with his return to the ring. He easily could come back 4 months in and do promos, among other things, before he wrestled at WrestleMania. Now, those plans look to be off.

According to Cageside Seats, Orton’s injury is said to be serious, and his return at WrestleMania looks to be off. The thought was that he would go into surgery almost immediately, but it does not appear he has had it yet, which pushes off his return time. On top of this, his injury being worse than once thought means that his recovery time when he does have to heal up will be much longer.

WWE was relying on both Orton and John Cena being back for WrestleMania. With the loss of Randy Orton, WWE will be quite thin on top tier stars who will be ready for WrestleMania. This does leave a big opportunity open for the likes of Dean Ambrose, Cesaro, and Kevin Owens, for example. Randy Orton may have not been scheduled for a main event-level match, but being at the event in a notable match was obvious for him.

That now makes the top matches even more important for WWE. If Randy Orton was set for a main event-level match due to the loss of others, another face could easily step in. Who that is at this point is unknown. WWE was said to have not been rattled when Seth Rollins went down. While his departure hurt things leading into WrestleMania, he was not set for a major match at the event, which is quite surprising, seeing as he has been pushed as “the face” of WWE all year long.

Clearly he cannot be used now, but it would be interesting to see what role WWE was planning for him. Triple H was potentially ready to face The Rock, which left a match with The Game off the list for Rollins. However, Rollins was said to be the fallback plan. Now, both plans for Triple H are off the table, as The Rock is said to be unavailable for a match at the show, as well. This left someone like Randy Orton open for the Cerebral Assassin to face off with. Now he, too, is gone. That means Triple H very well could miss the event.

If he does end up working WrestleMania in a regular match, chances are that he faces off with someone like Dean Ambrose, as he would be the only one left who makes sense. That is if WWE does not turn him heel before then.
