‘Fallout 4’ Must-Haves: X-01 Power Armor, Freefall Legs, And Harpoon Gun

Scavenging the vast wasteland that is Fallout 4 requires only the best armor and paraphernalia. Countless of items and mods are available for you to experiment with in Fallout 4, but obtaining the best and most interesting ones will never fail to bring you pride as you strut down the wasteland carrying, or donning your hard-earned items.

We bring you three of the most interesting must-have items you should check out in Fallout 4, which range from chicken-easy to needs-practicing.

First on the list is the newly discovered secret weapon by Fallout 4 modder xxdeathknight72xx. Available for download atNexus mods, this Harpoon Gun was found by xxdeathknight72xx. Kotaku writes that the file for the Harpoon Gun was found sitting beneath Fallout 4 game files and even though it is almost completed, it never made it to the final roster of official weapons in-game.

While the Harpoon Gun seems like an unfinished abandoned weapon in Fallout 4, some people are speculating that the gun is an uncompleted project that Bethesda can patch up in future DLCs. Apart from the gun being able to skewer heads of Fallout 4 enemies, the file for the gun found by xxdeathknight72xx is complete with reload animation and a trail of bubbles coming off of the harpoon. This leads to more speculation that Fallout 4 can be picking up underwater sequences in the future.

So how does the Harpoon Gun work? By downloading the mod by xxdeathknight72xx, the Harpoon Gun will override the normal Railway Rifle in Fallout 4. No ammo can be picked up for the weapon around Fallout 4’s map so to reload, open the command (press ~) and enter player.additem 000fe269 50.

Next on our list of interesting Fallout 4 must-haves is a dream come true for every Fallout 4 player–a no-fall-damage pair of legs. Imagine the days when you had to die from clumsy and accidental falls; those are the days of the past. The Freefall Leg Armor in Fallout 4 will let you jump and fall to your heart’s content.

The Freefall Leg Armor is one of the rarest, and trickiest items to acquire in the game, so take note that you must be pretty well ahead in the game, meaning you should have access to certain parts of the map like the elevator at Mass Fusion Building, and you must have high Science, Armorer, and Picklocking perk abilities.

US Gamer reports that the Freefall Armor was found on one of the top floors of the Mass Fusion Building. But since the location has no direct path, a Power Armor equipped with a jetpack is needed. From here on, it gets pretty tricky since you’ll be performing a lot of jumps and exhibitions. It’s kind of a pun, too, if you think about it, that since you’re trying to get an armor that will let you fall off the top of any Fallout 4 hill happily, you will need to go through some serious jumping obstacles that will render you dead if you fail. Our third Fallout 4 must-have is the most powerful Power Armor in the game, the X-01 Power Armor, and this is easier to get than the crazy Freefall leg armor. Actually, bits and pieces of the X-01 Power Armor are easy to spot all around Fallout 4′s map, but finding the full armor is what you want, which is composed of six parts.

The full X-01 Power Armor is located on Custom House Tower, east of Goodneighbor, and can actually be seen on your Fallout 4 pip boy. The tricky part here is that the Power Armor waiting for you inside the building actually scales down or up, depending on your level. So if you’re pretty underleveled, you will not get the X-01 Power Armor to spawn inside. Patricia Hernandez of Kotaku reports that at level 27, she was already able to make the X-01 spawn.
