Britney Spears ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’: Do You Know What ‘Hit’ Means? It’s Not What You Think!

Britney Spears and Sony Music were sued back in May regarding the pop star’s hit song “Piece of Me” for allegedly stealing a sample on the track of a woman seductively moaning, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Kirk Rothrum, the owner of bangin-beats.com, sued Britney Spears and Sony, claiming the moaning was a sample from his own library, but now it seems that months of legal fees forced Rothrum to drop the case.

A source cited by the Daily Mail claims Rothrum made a decision to drop the lawsuit because he couldn’t afford legal fees anymore after months of waiting for the case to be reviewed.

Artists like Rihanna, Jay Z, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Lloyd Banks regularly use samples from Rothrum’s library, as said by Rothrum himself. He added, according to the Daily Mail, that he is always getting paid for providing samples from his library, but Britney Spears allegedly refused to pay for her ‘ooh’s and aah’s’ on “Piece of Me.”

But the mother-of-two has more important things to do rather than dealing with something that she may or may not have done eight years ago. These other things include working on her ninth studio album, according to the Daily Mail.

In November, the thirty-three-year-old pop star shared a photo with songwriters Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, who are famous for their work with Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

Although just a few months ago, Britney Spears revealed that she didn’t have plans to start working on a new album any time soon, it seems that she has changed her intentions, as a photo with the songwriters taken at a studio is a direct hint that Spears is working hard on her ninth album.

In March this year, Britney Spears revealed more of her plans in an interview with Billboard.

“There’s a lot going on with my kids and schools and you know, adding new sports and stuff like that. I’m gonna try to do my best to do an amazing album but it’s not my full priority right now.”

Larry Rudolph, Britney Spears’ manager, also spoke with Billboard.

“We’re not really talking seriously about a new album yet.”

After looking sexy during her guest appearance on CW’s Jane The Virgin, Britney Spears appeared in the public, covering up her curves in a sporty hoodie and flashing her toned legs in short-shorts and cozy boots, according to the Daily Mail.

Leaving Milk studios in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Britney Spears was photographed casually walking toward her car, holding a book and a charger for a smartphone.

Britney Spears made a surprise appearance on the CW’s show in an episode that aired on Monday evening, after previously calling Jane The Virgin her “favorite show.”

Everybody knows the lyrics to Britney Spears’ hit song “… Baby One More Time,” but it seems like only seventeen years after its release in 1998 the fans finally get the chance to find out the true meaning behind the lyrics, as reported by New Now Next.

Particularly, Britney Spears’ fans have been wondering for seventeen years what the word “hit” means.

“My loneliness is killing me / I must confess I still believe / When I’m not with you I lose my mind, give me a sign / Hit me baby one more time.”

Most — if not all — Britney Spears fans have believed that the word “hit” has some kind of sexual reference, but according to pop culture enthusiast and music writer John Seabrook, who has just released a book titled “The Song Machine,” which reveals the truth behind the lyrics of various pop songs, the fans are wrong.

New Now Next cites the Huffington Post, which wrote that the song was written by Swedish songwriter Max Martin and Swedish-Moroccan songwriter Rami Yacoub, who worked for Stockholm’s famous Cheiron Studios in the 1990s.

“The Swedes thought that “hit” was brand new American teen slang for “call.” The singer, then, is pleading for her ex-boyfriend to call her just one more time, because she’s lonely. Nothing improper there!”
