Kate Beckinsale, Len Wiseman Split: Hollywood Couple Headed For Divorce After Being Separated For Months

It seems that the splitting of Hollywood couples has become an epidemic and it has been recently announced that another celebrity couple is calling it quits. Actress Kate Beckinsale and her husband, director Len Wiseman, disclosed that after 11 years of marriage, they have decided to divorce. As reported by ET Online, the marriage of the Underworld star and Total Recall director has come to an end. Reportedly, Beckinsale and her husband have been separated for some time, according to a source.

“They are still friendly and spend time together in L.A. when Kate is there,” an insider told People magazine, adding that “there has been no drama.”

“It’s just not Kate’s style,” the source continued. “They have both had complicated schedules and have grown apart. They tried to make it work, but they end up falling back into old habits and fighting.”

The news that the couple was headed for divorce was revealed after Wiseman was seen over the past months without his wedding ring amid reports of him dating the model CJ Franco. The 24-year-old, who has been seen partying with the 42-year-old director three times in recent weeks, was spotted running errands in West Hollywood on Thursday, Daily Mail wrote in a recent report.

Beckinsale has not been seen with her ??husband since June, when she and Wiseman were spotted eating dinner at the popular nightspot The Nice Guy, which is located in Los Angeles.

The couple met on the set of Underworld, a film that was directed by Wiseman. The filmmaker proposed to the actress when they went to dinner at Santa Monica’s Viceroy hotel. Beckinsale and Wiseman had only been dating for a few months and a year later, the two tied the knot at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, California.

Before marrying Wiseman, Kate was in a relationship for eight years with Michael Sheen, and they have a 16-year-old daughter, Lily Sheen. She became romantically involved with her Underworld co-star after meeting during play rehearsals.

Speculation that the couple was headed for divorce came when several media sources reported seeing Len beside Franco, while Kate was in Prague filming Underworld 5. According to Us Weekly, Beckinsale had been waiting until filming wraps in late November to talk to Wiseman in person and discuss whether or not they would formally file for divorce.

Wiseman has been seen more than once accompanied by CJ Franco, a stunning 24-year model. Although there is still no official confirmation of a relationship between the two, that is the assumption because they have been seen together displaying behavior that is far from being characteristic of two friends.

Reportedly, Beckinsale and Wiseman have remained friendly with each other throughout their breakup and the only thing the actress asked of Wiseman is that he display a little tact and be “discreet” if he did step out with other women in the meantime.” For now, Wiseman has mostly complied with her request and although he has been seen with another woman, he hasn’t been a part of any scandalous headline.

A source told Us Weekly that Kate is hurt that her husband has been spotted out publicly with Franco, and the two allegedly “haven’t even been able to sit down and discuss divorcing yet and she asked him to wait until then. There is still a chance they won’t, she was holding out to discuss their future with him in person.”
