Britney Spears Album Rumors: Ace Of Base, DJ Mustard Tracks Make The Cut

Britney Spears album rumors are leaving her fans asking the popular artist to “Gimme More.”

And if the rumors are true, it looks as if Britney Spears is set to deliver on that request with her next album.

Britney Spears took to twitter to announce that she is currently recording a new album two years after her eighth album Britney Jean was released. Her new album is yet untitled, but is being referred to B9.

Included in Britney Spears’s announcement of her ninth album was a picture with her and two other musicians. According to Pop Crush, they are Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels. Justin Tranter is the front man of a glam rock band Semi Precious Weapons. The band opened for Lady Gaga on her Monster Ball Tour and their song “Aviation High” is one of their more well-known songs. Justin Tranter has been responsible in writing for other bands including the song “Centuries” for Fall Out Boy.

As for Julia Micheals, she has worked on many pop songs and TV shows. She wrote the theme song for Austin and Ally on the Disney Channel. Julia Michaels and her writing partner Troye Sivan are responsible for Gwen Stefani’s “Used to Love You” and Justin Bieber’s song “Sorry.”

Along with Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels, Britney Spears is also teaming up with songwriter Matthew Koma on the new album. He has made a name for himself working with female pop singers like Kelly Clarkson and Hillary Duff, so Britney Spears seems like a perfect fit. In an interview with Pop Sugar, Matthew Koma was very appreciative of Britney Spears.

“It’s super surreal to sit there and hear Britney Spears sing one of your songs. It’s like — it’s one of those things on the checklist. You know, I checked off Kelly Clarkson too. There are very few of those marquee artists where it’s like, ‘okay, check, that’s really cool.’ It just feels like…it holds a different weight.”

Other rumors surrounding the ninth album release include a cover for an Ace of Base hit “All That She Wants,” according to a recent Inquisitr article. Billboard is also reporting that DJ Mustard, a popular West Coast beatsmith, is teaming up for a Britney Spears track that could be part of her upcoming album.

The news of Britney Spear’s ninth album follows her announcement in September that she will be extending her residency in Las Vegas. Britney Spears began her Las Vegas stay on December 27, 2013, entitled Britney: Piece of Me. Originally scheduled to end this December, it will continue on until December 2017. As People reports, Britney Spears posted a video to Instagram to announce her extension.

“Usually I get you guys to help me count to three, but tonight I want you to help me count to two because I’m going to be in Vegas for two more years!”

Britney Spears has come a long way since she first burst onto the pop music scene with her first album. In fact, this month marks the 17-year anniversary of her hit “Baby One More Time” entering the U.S. Top 100. The song has gone on to sell over 10 million copies and launch the career of one of the most famous pop stars in history.

Britney Spears has had to navigate the world of stardom from an early age and it was not easy. She has been married twice (the first a 55-hour marriage to Jason Alexander that was subsequently annulled) and has two sons: Sean Preston born September 14, 2005 and Jayden James born September 12, 2006 with second husband Kevin Federline. But with the news of her ninth album and residency extension, it appears that Britney Spears has figured out how to remain successful and relevant.
