Adele Pranks Her Impersonators As She Impersonates Herself In Front Of Them, Brings Them To Tears [Video]

Adele shocked a few of her fans and brought them to tears when she teamed up with TV host Graham Norton to fool Adele impersonators that she is just one of them.

Adele chatted with Graham Norton for a TV special and also showed her sense of humor when she agreed to disguise herself as an Adele impersonator to fool a few people. According to the Belfast Telegraph, Adele created a persona named “Jenny” and altered her look with prosthetics applied to her nose and chin. The transformation was remarkable and the 27-year-old singer was unrecognizable. To complete the look and to hide the telling tattoo of “Angelo” on her hand, Adele wore black gloves.

A few Adele impersonators, nine of them to be exact, were invited to the Wimbledon Theatre and were told there was an audition for a new Graham Norton top secret television show.

Adele chatted with some of the impersonators backstage and told them that she was “Jenny,” a nanny who moonlights as Adele. “Jenny” told the other Adele impersonators that business as an Adele impersonator has been slow, as there is “not much demand.” She went on to convince the others that she was a nervous wreck and even said that she is sick to her stomach.

One by one, the Adele impersonators performed on stage, singing Adele’s version of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love,” which was one of the tracks from Adele’s 2008 album 19.

When it was finally time for the real Adele’s turn, as MTV reports, Adele faked missing her cue and had to start all over again. The other Adele impersonators felt sorry for Jenny, seeing how nervous she was on stage. However, after her second try, it was evident that they were not watching an Adele impersonator at all. At first, a few of the Adele impersonators who were watching did not believe that it was the real Adele they were watching on stage, but as she continued to sing, there was no denying that the woman they were watching is indeed the Grammy winner.

After realizing that Adele was in front of them, the Adele impersonators sang with the singer and some were even brought to tears.

A few of the impersonators shared what the experience was like. Stacey Lee Richards, one of the impersonators, said that “Jenny” was “strange looking,” but she didn’t say anything because she didn’t want to judge.

“I just thought she was a weirdo. I didn’t realise it was her until the second verse as I didn’t think anything like that would ever happen to me and I didn’t believe it for two days afterwards.”

Adele impersonator Tallulah Windmil said that she was talking to “Jenny” backstage and didn’t believe she was a real Adele impersonator.

“I thought ‘Come on love, you shouldn’t be nervous.’ I also thought she was a rubbish impersonator as when have you ever seen Adele wear gloves?”

For Katie Markham, she knew she was watching the real Adele as soon as she started singing on stage.

“I perform as Adele for a living so I know exactly how she sings every note. Nobody else noticed at first and I had to keep telling everyone: ‘It’s Adele’! The whole experience was mind blowing. It is almost overwhelming to think that we met our idol.”

Adele recently released her third studio album, 25, and quickly, her track “Hello” flew off the charts. Back in 2011, everyone thought that her second album 21 would be her last, as the singer expressed that she was considering quitting music, since it’s better to “go out on a high.” However, just a year after, Adele said that she is just taking a break. The birth of her son was what inspired her to make music again. See the entire prank video of Adele as “Jenny” below.
