Sheree Whitfield Wanted NeNe Leakes To Remain On ‘RHOA’

One person who didn’t witness Sheree Whitfield’s return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta is her former co-star, NeNe Leakes. Surprisingly, Sheree wishes that NeNe was there with the rest of the housewives at Cynthia Bailey’s eyewear launch party. In an interview with The Daily Dish, posted on Friday, Sheree revealed that she was actually disappointed when she learned that NeNe wasn’t returning to the show.

Sheree explained that she had hoped to see how she and NeNe are together now.

“I was a little disappointed because I’ve always said I would definitely like to be back on the show when NeNe is there just so we can see how we’ve grown [and if] were we able to move forward, or are we still gonna be in the same place, as what, four seasons ago? That whole dynamic would be interesting.”

Sheree added that if she were to have a conversation with NeNe, she hopes that it would be a civilized and fun one.

“I hope it would be grown up. I hope we would be able to sit and have a civilized conversation… and maybe have some laughs.”

Sheree and NeNe were both on TheReal Housewives of Atlanta as starring cast members from the first through fourth seasons. Sheree is now back on the show for its eighth season as a recurring cast member. In June, NeNe announced that after starring on seven seasons of the show, she has decided to leave it in order to pursue and concentrate on other opportunities.

Yet in October, NeNe revealed that she hasn’t left the show completely. In fact, she decided to film a few scenes for the latest season. As the Inquisitr reported, NeNe showed up to the group’s vacation in Jamaica. She posted a photo of herself at her hotel room balcony, as well as a group photo showing her with Cynthia Bailey, Peter Thomas, Porsha Williams, Phaedra Parks, Kim Fields, Kim Fields’ husband, Sheree Whitfield, and Sheree’s ex-husband Bob.

So clearly, Sheree Whitfield and NeNe Leakes did have some time together while filming the latest season. Perhaps they just didn’t get the chance to have a one-on-one conversation?

During their time together on the show, Sheree and NeNe constantly feuded with one another. As reported by E! News in May, 2013, NeNe told Andy Cohen during a Watch What Happens Live special that Sheree is “evil” and “a true b**ch.”

“Sheree, out of all the girls, is the very one person I will never have anything else to do with. I think Sheree is very evil, I think she is very mean and she is a true b**ch. And that’s not cute.”

During her own appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Sheree told NeNe to stop talking about her.

“I don’t understand why, you know, you feel the need to continue to talk about me because I don’t talk about you. Honestly, Andy, I’m really flattered that the rich and famous, the newly rich and famous, still have time to talk about me all day…Nene, get a life.”

As for why NeNe continues to badmouth her, Sheree hinted to Andy that it’s because she knows NeNe’s secrets.

“I don’t know, we have a lot of history. When someone knows all your baggage and all your dirt…I’m not afraid of her, you know, but I wish her the best.”

Despite their turbulent history, if NeNe did continue on with season 8 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta as a starring cast member, she may have actually backed up Sheree Whitfield during night one of filming. That’s because at Cynthia Bailey’s eyewear launch party, which was the first time that all of the cast saw one another since filming the season 7 reunion show, Kenya Moore provoked Sheree by immediately bringing up negative talk about her unfinished home that has been under construction for the past few years, Chateau Sheree. Kenya and Sheree descended into a verbal fight full of insults and Sheree seemed as if she was going to attack Kenya before the other housewives intervened and Kenya walked away.

Ever since Kenya Moore’s arrival on the show on season 5, she and NeNe Leakes have fought with one another. On Monday, Kenya, during an interview with New York Live, said “there might just be a new queen as a ruler now” in response to NeNe’s departure from the show. Not surprisingly, NeNe had something to say about that during her own interview with New York Live just days later.

“You know, one can tell when there’s always been someone thirsting to be in the same spot that you’ve been in when you’ve worked with them. But I must say, I don’t think anyone thinks of Real Housewives of Atlanta, and says…Kenya…They say, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, NeNe Leakes.’ I believe everybody associates Real Housewives with NeNe Leakes. I mean, be for real.”
