‘RHONY’ Bethenny Frankel A ‘Bad Mother’? Yes, According To Her Ex Jason Hoppy’s Neighbors

The battle for custody over her children may not be over for Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel. Although Frankel and ex-husband Jason Hoppy have been in and out of courts for the better part of three years, the reality star may be headed for more custody proceedings following new reports that she was not the best mother to her children.

An inside source close to the matter told Radar Online that Hoppy is currently “gearing up for a new round of custody hearings.” In particular, Hoppy is attempting to gain custody over their 5-year-old daughter, Bryn.

Apparently, Hoppy has some new evidence in hand about Frankel’s duties as a mother, which some of her former neighbors have called into question.

“They’ve called her a bad mother who isn’t there for her child,” the source stated. “They despise Bethenny.”

While we will have to wait and see what becomes of this latest development, Hoppy certainly has plenty of funds to fight a drawn out battle. In fact, a judge just recently made Frankel hand over some $100,000 to Hoppy to cover his court costs. Based on their past history and unwillingness to agree on custody terms, this one is set to be another long term affair.

As far as Frankel is concerned, the reality star recently shared that she is working hard at being a better mother despite her busy schedule. In an interview with Business Insider, Frankel discussed juggling the responsibilities of running her own business and starring in a TV show with all the demands of her personal life.

“As far as professional and motherhood, when I’m working, I’m completely working and I’m focused,” Frankel told the outlet. “When I’m with my daughter, I’m completely focused on that and I’m not working.”

Bethenny Frankel went on to credit her ability to compartmentalize certain aspects of her life as one reason she is able to accomplish so much. This includes being focused on the task at hand, and not letting her work bleed into other areas of her life.

“I create my entire schedule and life so it’s separated,” Frankel explained. “And it works really well because I am as much a mom as I am a businesswoman. And vice versa. I love having this legacy to leave for her, and I love that she’ll see that I work, but I don’t miss her drop-offs and pick-ups, and I don’t do work instead of being with her, ever.”

Despite her comments, Frankel has yet to address the statements made by her former neighbors. That being said, not only does Frankel no longer live in the neighborhood, she also never took a liking to her neighbors. This makes it unlikely that Frankel will comment on the matter outside of the courtroom, unless, of course, it is brought up in the upcoming season of RHONY.

At the same time, Frankel also took the time to encourage other mothers to follower her example and to not let their own careers get in the way of spending quality time with family.

“You have to just know that you’re a good person, your child — when they’re at school — is where they’re supposed to be; when they’re playing with their friends, it’s what they’re supposed to be doing,” Frankel stated in the interview. “And it’s quality time when you’re with them. Be present and focused and let them know how much you love them.”

Only time will tell if Frankel is being truthful about being a good mother or if her neighbors are truly on to something. Either way, it will all likely be revealed in her ongoing custody battle with Hoppy.
