Scheana Marie And Mike Shay: ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Couple Faces Drug Use, Divorce Rumors

Scheana Marie and Mike Shay went through a rough patch in their marriage while filming the fourth season of Vanderpump Rules.

As fans saw during Monday night’s episode, Scheana Marie disclosed her husband’s struggles with substance abuse after her at-home life began affecting her work at SUR Lounge. In conversations with friends Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix, as well as her boss and co-star Lisa Vanderpump, Scheana Marie revealed her husband was abusing Vicodin and often mixing up to five pills with alcohol.

“Everyone thinks of us as the perfect happy couple but there are issues,” Scheana Marie told Madix, according to a report by In Touch Weekly. “I’m so confused… he’s been drinking so much lately and just like, self medicating… and this isn’t making him happy.”

While chatting with Maloney, Scheana Marie was in tears as she revealed her husband had been gone for days. Although it wasn’t shown where he was, Scheana Marie claimed he often stayed at the home of his parents as she remained at their apartment alone.

“I feel like I’ve been cheated on,” Scheana Marie later told Vanderpump. “Like, ‘you had this whole other life and you’re hiding it from me and I didn’t know.'”

Although Scheana Marie hasn’t shared any new photos of herself and Shay on Instagram or Twitter for the last couple of weeks, she recently confirmed everything was just fine with her and her husband after Shay offered a public apology to her on Twitter.

While Scheana Marie and Shay haven’t appeared in many photos lately on social media, that was likely due to Scheana Marie’s recent trip to Chicago with her mother and sister. Judging by her Instagram feed, Scheana Marie and her family spent several days in the Midwest earlier this week before heading home to Los Angeles.

“Feels good to be home but I already miss the Windy City!” Scheana Marie wrote on November 19 along with a photo of Chicago.

As Season 4 of Vanderpump Rules continues to air, Scheana Marie’s husband’s struggles with what appears to be a prescription pill addiction will remain a hot topic for both Scheana Marie and her co-stars, most of whom where completely blindsided by Shay’s drug struggles. In one scene from the show, Shay’s friends, Tom Sandoval and Jax Taylor, were seen speaking at SUR Lounge, and according to Sandoval, he hoped to be a friend to Shay if that’s what he needed.

During an interview with SheKnows earlier this month, Madix and Sandoval confirmed their surprise in regard to Scheana Marie’s husband’s issues.

“[Scheana Marie] is one of my closest friends, but Mike Shay is one of my best friends, as well. We’ve had a lot of conversations on our own, and I was like, ‘Wow, that’s not something that I ever thought was going on with him.’ And I felt really horribly that he didn’t feel comfortable talking to anybody it, and that he was kind of suffering through this alone. It bummed me out on a level that’s hard to describe.”
