Ben Stein On Obama’s Hatred Of America: ‘Why Is He So Angry?’ [Report]

Ben Stein made it clear that he is not a fan of the current president, as the actor and conservative commentator had some pretty harsh words for President Barack Obama during an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of Newsmax TV’s The Steve Malzberg Show. As reported by the Washington Times, Stein believes Obama’s response to the Islamic State terror group shows he has a “real strong hatred for America.”

The following text is what Stein said to Malzberg.

“Mr. Obama has been wrong from day one about ISIS. He called them a JV team, he said that they weren’t really serious or important. He has not in any sense addressed their threat. And he is a bad joke, as the leader of the most important nation in the world, he’s a bad joke. He’s a very real danger. Well, I’m very interested in psychology I’m very interest in psychoanalysis. I guess I probably should have been a psychologist. I think the question is, why is he so angry at America? I don’t think there’s much question that he does not wish America well. He has a real strong hatred of America. Is it because he’s part black? I don’t know. Is it because he felt his father was mistreated by the British in Kenya? I don’t know. We don’t know. We just know that in terms of being a forthright, bold leader who takes on our enemies, he’s not there. He’s missing in action.”

Ben Stein — who has written several commentaries on economic, political, and social issues — is one of Obama’s biggest critics and last year he called President Barack Obama the most racist American president there has ever been. Although Stein is well-known for his appearances in several television advertisements for the product Clear Eyes, the 70-year-old has plenty of political knowledge and began his political career as a speechwriter and lawyer for former President Richard Nixon.

According to a report from Raw Story, Stein’s comments reflect what many conservatives have only hinted at for years. As said in a report from The Blaze, Stein isn’t the only one to speak out against President Obama’s strategy against the Islamic State extremists. Sen. Ted Cruz has also been highly critical of President Obama and he recently told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt that he believes the president is unwilling to lead on the international stage because he sees American leadership as “illegitimate.”

Sometimes showing some exasperation with the repetition of questions on the validity of his ISIS strategy, President Obama has sought to highlight the lack of an alternative. He told reporters in a press conference that sending ground troops would be a mistake because this would produce what we have seen in the past. The Atlanta Journal Constitution wrote that on Monday, President Obama made his case for a steady and persistent campaign that seeks to gradually shrink the Islamic State’s territory in Iraq and Syria with airstrikes, slowly build up indigenous ground forces and press for renewed diplomatic negotiations to end Syria’s civil war.

President Obama believes that bombing numerous alleged Islamic State strongholds is not the answer to the world’s terror problem and he feels that sending a U.S. ground invasion force would be a mistake. Instead, President Obama’s strategy relies on using air strikes to specifically target ISIS, which would greatly reduce danger to innocent civilians. It seems that the president will not send U.S. ground combat troops to the region, and he is waiting for the emergence of local fighters who are suited to handle the threat.
