‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For November 20, Gauntlet Day
The visit by Xûr, Agent of the Nine, in Destiny for the weekend of Friday, November 20 can best be described as “Gauntlet Day.” The mysterious vendor has a set of the Exotic armor pieces for each of the three main Guardian classes on sale along with a chance at an Exotic chest piece.
Xûr can be found in the very back of the bar located underneath the Future War Cult in the hangar this weekend. It’s a long jog, but easy to find. Just turn left when you enter the hanger, go down the stairs to the left, and then straight back. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map just to be sure, though.
Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, November 22. As soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET/2 a.m. PT, he will be gone.
Titans get the Year Two exclusive item this week with the punchy fun Immolation Fists. Hunters and Warlocks get Year Two upgrades to two solid pieces, though the utility of the Don’t Touch Me has been dampened somewhat now that Nighstalkers are favored over Bladedancers.
Those unhappy with Xûr’s offerings can always pick up the Exotic Chest Armor Engram. Players at 300 Light and above will get a shot at a 310 Light item. Just remember that the Cryptarch looks at your current inventory to determine what you get and may give you something for another class if the current class is loaded with Exotic chest armor.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.
Immolation Fists
These Titan Sunbreaker specific gauntlets grant the “Explosive Pyre” perk from the sub-class’ skill tree for free so that enemies explode when killed by the Hammer of Sol. This frees players up to use the “Flameseeker” or “Fleetfire” perks instead. The former turns on tracking for the Hammer of Sol, while the latter gives an agility boost for any kills with the Sunbreaker’s fire. The random perks with the Immolation Fists offered by Xûr include the choice between “Momentum Transfer” and “Rain Blows” along with “Hand Cannon Loader” and “Sidearm Loader.”
The 44 Intellect/44 Strength split stat is decent enough, as it focuses on the two most important stats for Sunbreaker Titans. The free perk gives the Immolation Fists quite a bit of utility to Sunbreaker Titans, so Destiny players who haven’t picked them up yet will want to try them out.
Don’t Touch Me
The Don’t Touch Me Gauntlets for Hunters come with the “Defensive Reflex” signature perk that will briefly turn your character invisible when hit with a melee attack. These are best used as a defensive piece in PVE for any section where you are swarmed by enemies. The optional perks grant a choice between “Switchblade” and “Impact Induction” for either decreased melee cool down or bonus grenade energy on melee hits. The faster reload option is between Pulse Rifles and Shotguns.
The 70 pure Strength stat is excellent for melee minded Hunters, particular Bladedancers who want to maximize their ability to go invisible.
Claws of Ahamkara
“The Whispers” perk gives Warlocks an additional melee charge, which is a nice bonus since this Exotic piece will work with any of the three Warlock sub-classes.The optional perks give a choice between “Snap Discharge” to increase melee attack speed or “Momentum Transfer” to give bonus melee energy on grenade hits. There’s also a choice between increased reload speeds for Hand Cannons or Machine Guns, which is always handy.
The Warlock melee is the most powerful in Destiny right now, so you might want to try to use the Glass Needles to get a better stat roll. The 44 Discipline/44 Strength stat roll is decent depending on the rest of your Guardian’s loadout.
