Holly Holm’s Connection To Steroid Scandal Considered Suspicious By Expert

Holly Holm may have been everyone’s hero this weekend when she won the fight against Ronda Rousey, but now things are not looking as good for her. Hollywood Life shared that a company that actually endorses Holm is now in trouble for the drugs that they sell. Intel Pharma is a sponsor of Holly Holm, but now this company is reportedly in trouble for selling substances that are banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency. UFC follows the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency’s rules, which adheres to the WADA’s rules and regulations.

Of course, this does not mean that Holly Holm used these drugs, but the fact that this company is her sponsor certainly makes her look bad. Victor Conte, founder of the Bay Area Lab Co-Operative, spoke out to USA Today Sports about it all. He feels like it looks suspicious.

“So now one of the biggest stars in UFC, Holly Holm, is endorsing crazy, fringe (supplements) that [UFC’s anti-doping chief, Jeff Novitzky] is known for busting people for doing.”

Holly’s manager blew off the news that this company sold banned substances and even said that Holly knew that they sold them. He went on to give an explanation about why it was okay Holly was sponsored by them.

“Holly didn’t really use them so it’s not a big deal. I’m sure she didn’t use any of them. She might have taken a picture with one.”

Her manager, Lenny Frezquez, doesn’t sound very confident in the fact that Holly Holm didn’t use these products. He did say at first that she didn’t really use them, but later clarified that he was sure she didn’t use the products. Regardless, it doesn’t look good for Holly coming off of such a huge win in the UFC. Intel Pharma did stop making these products that are banned before they ever started sponsoring Holly. They also recalled the products that were banned.

Holly Holm is supposed to fight Ronda Rousey again at UFC 200. As of right now, Ronda is on a six month leave from fighting due to medical reasons. This fight wouldn’t even take place until 2016 though, so hopefully she is ready to fight again at that point.

E! Online actually shared if Holly Holm plans to have a rematch with Ronda Rousey after their big fight last weekend. Holm spoke out about her thoughts on fighting again.

“That’s how it goes! I’ve been knocked down, knocked out, got to come back and avenge my loss. I’ve been on the other end of it, so I feel like that’s just the way it goes. Anytime there’s a big upset, especially over somebody that’s been so dominating, that’s how it goes. You gotta give them the rematch.”

Holly Holm went on to explain that this is not something she feels she should brag about though and she just has to prove herself in her next fight.

“I always figure, you know what, the hard work’s not done yet. And I have nothing to try and gloat about right now. All I need to do is just prove myself in the fight. A lot of that is just wasted energy for me, and I think, oh my gosh, I just don’t even want to waste my energy on that because there’s so much more in a fight anyway.”

At this time, Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey haven’t talked to each other, but Holly hoped she was doing well. Do you feel like it is strange that Holly was linked to a company selling banned substances? Do you think that Holly and Ronda should have a rematch? Sound off in the comments below.
