Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber Reunite At American Music Awards? ‘Revival’ Singer Refuses To Bask In Bieber’s Shadow

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are set for a Close Encounter Of The Performer kind at the 2015 American Music Awards (AMAs). With Justin recently dishing up some love for Selena, Gomez may feel somewhat awkward about the inevitable face-to-face meeting. But even though they supposedly split forever, can he use this opportunity to charm her again?

Not much is known about how the singers themselves feel about the possibility of a close encounter at the AMAs, but fans of both Selena and Justin are excited about the upcoming American Music Awards performances of their faves. according to Hollywood Life.

And the American Music Awards has been busy tweeting out the singers, as well.

Although Gomez isn’t crooning “Just An Old-Fashioned Love Song” to her former boyfriend, Selena may have found it difficult to ignore how the 21-year-old has been discoursing about his love for her. In contrast, Gomez has played it much more under-the-radar when it comes to how she feels about their relationship.

As for Bieber, it was on purpose that he crafted a trio of love songs on his Purpose album specifically for Selena. Will Gomez find herself front and center when her ex sings that medley of hits at the American Music Awards, or will she arrange a repeat of the Video Music Awards earlier this year, when Selena mysteriously vanished just as he was singing “What Do You Mean?”

An insider revealed to Hollywood Life that Selena and her ex-boyfriend are concocting a way to see each other prior to their separate tours that take place soon. But whether that will be before or after the American Music Awards on November 22 isn’t yet known.

For those curious as to how Gomez influenced Bieber’s new album, he let it all spill when he visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently, reported Fashion & Style.

With his new Purpose album released, the singer also has a new single about Selena. “Mark My Words” reveals his feelings about holding onto Gomez, with a love message just for her.

Talking with Ellen, Justin confirmed that “What Do You Mean?” and “Sorry” also drew their inspiration from Selena. And yes, he confessed to DeGeneres, letting go of Gomez is challenging.

“It is tough — there is a lot of stuff that reminds me of [Selena]. You know, in relationship, you see something on TV and you are like, ‘I remember when we used to watch this or I remember that smell; it reminds me of that time.’ “

As to whether Justin and Gomez could reunite as boyfriend and girlfriend, the 21-year-old held out hope because of the history that he and Selena share.

“We have a lot of history together, so I’m sure it could possibly happen,” he mused. “I think we’re both just on our own journeys of figuring ourselves out. Maybe once [we do that] we can come together and make an awesome duo… I just want her to be happy.”

But while Justin is happily chatting away about Gomez, the 23-year-old singer is determined not to be defined by her boyfriends anymore, reported Billboard.

Selena sees Revival, which is her second solo album, as a milestone in her path away from the world of Disney and bubblegum singer to a sexy young woman.

Even though it’s been months since Gomez and Justin broke up, Selena still finds herself part of his persona, such as in the rumors that that weeping at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards was because of her. And although Gomez is willing to mention him, she wants to make it clear that she’s become an artist on her own.

“I’m proud of him,” said Selena, adding that he does not inspire her. “This is my time. I’ve deserved this. I earned it. This is all me.”
