The ‘Real Housewives Of Potomac’ — Everything We Know About The Cast And Location Of Bravo’s Latest Spin-Off

The Real Housewives franchise is set to introduce two exciting locations in the upcoming year. This includes the Real Housewives of Potomac and the Real Housewives of Dallas, with the former set to premiere as early as January, 2016. With that in mind, here is everything to know about the Housewives of RHOP.

According to E! Online, the new reality series will feature six African-American families that have managed to rise above racial obstacles to make their homes in an upscale community close to Washington, D.C. The ladies set to be featured in the show include Gizelle Bryant, Katie Rost, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, Robyn Dixon, and Ashley Darby.

Bryant was formerly married to Jamal Harrison Bryant, the successful lead minister at Empowerment Temple AME Church, located in Baltimore. The two have three daughters together. Bryant is getting ready to release a new makeup line, and is also wanting to start dating again.

Rost, meanwhile, is no stranger to the spotlight. In fact, she has been involved as a model with L’Oreal and CoverGirl, and even appeared as a host on Teen Summit. Rost has three children with her ex-husband, James Orsini. She is currently in a relationship with a top financier, named Andrew, who is also a top bachelor in the area. Her other claim to fame is that she dated Russell Simmons in the past.

Huger is known as the “grand dame of Potomac,” and has a penchant for hosting some fairly luxurious soirees, which of course we will see on the Real Housewives of Potomac. Unlike Bryant and Rost, Huger is still happily married to her husband, Raymond. Raymond works in the field of information technology and is the president of a successful company. The two have been married for 19 years and have two children together.

Jackson-Jordan is a socialite married to former NBA player Eddie Jordan, who now coaches in the league. The two have two children from their 17-year marriage, and claim that living apart for long periods of time is what has kept their marriage strong. According to the Washington Post, Jackson-Jordan is expected to be one of the key figures in the new series.

Like Jackson-Jordan, Dixon was also married to a former NBA player in Juan Dixon. Although the two have since broken up, they remain living in the same house along with their two children. Currently, Dixon is working hard as a single mom while launching her new vocation in the world of publicity and event managing.

Lastly, Darby is the youngest of the new Housewives and is a past Miss District of Columbia winner. She is currently married to Michael Darby, a wealthy real-estate investor from Australia who just so happens to be 29 years her senior. Although Darby busies herself with running her restaurant in Virginia, she also has plans to have a child of her own.

While this certainly gives us a good idea on the background of the cast members, one of the biggest questions about this new location is why producers chose it in the first place. After all, the Potomac wasn’t exactly on anyone’s radar prior to the announcement.

According to E! Online, Bravo chose Potomac as one of the settings of its newest franchises because of its affluence and prestige. In fact, not only was the city declared the most wealthy city in America in 2013, but it is also has a high concentration of educated men and women.

Additionally, the area is called home by a number of surprising celebrities, including Wolf Blitzer, Taylor Momsen, Sugar Ray Leonard, Sylvester Stallone, Darren Star, Patrick Ewing, Lynda Carter, Pete Sampras, and the list goes on.

The Real Housewives of Potomac is set to premiere January 17 on Bravo.
