Joey Feek’s Father Does Something Making the Cancer All Worth It

Joey Feek, of the duo Joey + Rory, is battling cancer, and of course that is not something that is a happy time for her family. The thing is, something actually happened that makes Joey say it is worth having cancer. This is a very difficult thing to go through, and most people would not be able to find the positive in this, but Joey Feek did exactly that during her battle. Faith It shared what Joey had to say that her father did, which made the entire process worth it.

When it comes to Joey and Rory, they have always been really religious. They are both very close with God and have prayed this entire time for “peace with His decision.” It turns out that Joey’s father did not have the same faith that Joey and Rory do, but now things are a lot better in that area for him. Her father actually took the step to get saved and give his life to the Lord. Joey explained all in a recent interview with The Tennessean. About a month ago, Joey’s dad went up to the altar, giving his life to God and here is what she had to say.

“I just cried. Now all of my family believes. And all of my family, when we die, we’re going to see each other again.”

Joey Feek now knows that she will see her dad in Heaven someday. This all makes it easier on Joey to know that her time on earth is almost over. Joey feels like the cancer was worth it if God saved her dad though.

“I told my dad, ‘I would go through all of this again, if that meant one person came to Christ because of it. The fact that my daddy did, Dad, I would do it all over. I’m so proud of you. When I die, I’m going to be looking for you. And I want you to know, that after you hug my brother [Justin, who died in a car accident in 1994], I’m going to be next in line.'”

At this time, Joey Feek is at home and in hospice. She is spending her last days with her daughter Indiana playing by her side. Her husband Rory is there with her and has been updating fans on her status on their blog constantly. People shared that Joey actually still feels a miracle could happen, and she isn’t giving up hope just yet. The doctors did tell her that there is nothing more they can do for her. Joey and Rory actually shared a statement about how she is doing.

“Thank you for the kind words, prayers and endless encouragement during this time. Joey and Rory still have hope for a miracle, but realize one has already happened through the outpouring of love and prayers for them during this journey. They are cherishing every moment spent together and have found peace through the path God is leading them down.”

Rory has two daughters from a previous relationship that are like daughters to Joey Feek. In their phone, they have her name as “Mom,” and they have been spending time with her. Rory recently shared that the girls drove up to spend more time with their mom while they still can.

Joey Feek may not have a lot longer left. She actually is praying that one day she just doesn’t wake up. Hopefully Joey Feek can go in peace, but now she knows that her dad will be there to meet her someday and this alone makes the cancer worth it to Feek. She is now at peace knowing that her entire family believes in the Lord.
