Lamar Odom Update: Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Visited, But Doctors Were Disappointed With The Result
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have reportedly visited Lamar Odom in his Los Angeles hospital room, along with their daughter North, to get updates on the state of the basketball player’s health.
Although TMZ did not report when the visit with Lamar took place, the celebrity news site said that Kim and crew stayed for at least three hours. Kanye is still technically Odom’s brother-in-law, as the NBA star has not officially divorced from Khloe Kardashian — though she is in another serious relationship. A photo of West waiting in the parking lot was provided as proof of the visit.

Kim’s visit also had another motive besides bringing Kanye’s family back together with Odom. As Inquisitr previously reported, Lamar is almost non-verbal and has not been able to recognize friends and family members, including the Kardashians, who have come by to visit him. Medical professionals working to get Odom back in good health were holding out for West to be able to jog his memory, but sadly that was not that case.
“Sources tell us [Kanye] piled into the family Range Rover and headed to Cedars-Sinai hospital on Sunday. It was the first time [West] has seen Lamar since he nearly died just over a month ago — and we’re told doctors hoped Yeezy’s presence might help jog LO’s memory.”
It was West’s first visit to see Odom, but Kim had already gone to see her former brother-in-law multiple times. There have even been rumors that filming for Keeping Up With the Kardashians has taken place in the medical facility where Lamar is staying — perhaps even without Odom’s consent.
Radar Online expressed its outrage that Kim and her family would sneak cameras into the hospital just to get an update for their television show. The entertainment source even accused the Kardashian family of “exploiting Lamar’s medical troubles for ratings.” The gossip site quoted an anonymous source source close to Odom who hinted that he never even gave explicit consent to be filmed.
“He isn’t signed up for the show or anything, but that doesn’t matter to them!”
Since Lamar suffered a brutal drug overdose while staying at Nevada’s famed brothel The Love Ranch (formerly known as Bunny Ranch Two), Kim and especially her sister, Khloe, Odom’s former wife, have been closely involved in the unfolding situation. The latter spoke about how exhausted she was from the whole situation when she appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show.
“The stroke affected part of his emotion side of the brain… but he’s able to smile and laugh at appropriate times.”
Employees who were entertaining Odom at the time of the incident later said that he went into the bathroom to do cocaine and subsequently overdosed. The 911 operator was also told by someone on the scene that Lamar had been using cocaine. That’s obviously caused worries for Kanye and Kim, especially when the Nevada Justice Department will be prosecuting him once he recovers.
