Cristiano Ronaldo To Leave Real Madrid In Summer [Rumor]

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly going to leave Real Madrid in the summer, with the Spanish club even allegedly willing to sell the three-time Ballon d’Or winner.

The Daily Mail have insisted that according to their sources, Cristiano Ronaldo will play his last home game against Barcelona next Saturday, stating that both the Portuguese forward and Madrid have decided to bring his seven-year tenure at the Bernabeu to a close.

These rumors were also reinforced by sources close to The Sun newspaper, via the Mirror, with the British tabloid insisting that Real Madrid are hopeful that they will receive a huge bid for Ronaldo.

The aforementioned publication also insisted that the fact no-one from Real Madrid attended the film premiere for the documentary that revolves around Cristiano Ronaldo is further proof that his time at the club will soon come to an end. The film premiere took place in central London on Monday.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s form has been rather patchy this season. In fact, Ronaldo has only scored in six games out of the 18 played this campaign, and there have long been rumors that Ronaldo and current manager Rafael Benitez don’t quite see eye to eye.

The concerns over Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid future first appeared at the end of last season. While there have long been rumors that Ronaldo might return to Manchester United or would be the subject of an audacious bid from the likes of Manchester City or Chelsea, the fact that Ronaldo came out and showed his support for Carlo Ancelotti, only for the Italian manager to be sacked soon after showed that there were cracks in his relationship with the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo tweeted a picture of himself and the Italian just before the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti was confirmed by Real Madrid, while he also wrote, “Great coach and amazing person. Hope we work together next season.”

It’s been widely speculated that Ronaldo already knew at this point that Carlo Ancelotti would be sacked and Ronaldo was simply posting this message to show that he sided with the Italian.

Cristiano Ronaldo also allegedly isn’t pleased that Real Madrid appointed Rafael Benitez as coach in place of Ancelotti. Benitez is regarded as a defensive coach, and Madrid’s performances since his appointment have only reinforced this notion.

Real Madrid have allegedly decided to side with Benitez, and they believe that the time is nigh to try and get as much money as possible for Ronaldo, who they bought for around $120 million back in 2009.

But which clubs are likely to bid for Cristiano Ronaldo? Well, it would be between Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea. Cristiano Ronaldo has already ruled out a transfer to Manchester City, insisting that because he had played for Manchester United he didn’t want to ruin his reputation amidst the Red Devils faithful.

Nasser El-Khelaifi, who is the president of PSG, recently admitted that they hadn’t made any progress with trying to sign Ronaldo, explaining, “Ronaldo has a contract with Real and we respect that. Negotiations would be in secret but nothing for now.”

Meanwhile, during his appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday night, Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that there is always a chance he could rejoin Manchester United at some point in the future, but insisted the is currently very happy at Real Madrid.

“I’m a huge supporter of Manchester United – as I say many times, I’m very comfortable in Real Madrid now, I feel happy,” Ronaldo declared. “But as people know I like Manchester United, I love that club, but [the] future, nobody knows. But right now I feel good and I feel happy in Real Madrid.”
