Theo James And Shailene Woodley To Miss Each Other When ‘Allegiant’ Wraps Up?

In two years’ time, promotion for the final Divergent film will come to an end. While Theo James and Shailene Woodley have repeatedly denied their rumoured blossoming relationship, nothing would stop the 30-year-old actor from missing his Allegiant co-stars.

Theo has always been vocal when it comes to his friendship with Shailene. In a previous interview with Dazed Digital, he talked about his closeness with her as well as the whole cast of Divergent.

“We all hung out a lot. It was fun. We were all in this one apartment. We’re all sharing a bed – me and Shailene just shared a single bed and were just like spooning every night! Erm no, we were all in this same apartment block so it felt like camp for better or worse. It was fun and we hit the town quite a lot and drunk our weight in tequila.”

Despite the number of intimate scenes Theo and Shailene shared in the film adaptations of Veronica Roth’s novels, the Underworld actor claimed that no awkwardness transpired between him and the 23-year-old actress. He said that by the time they were asked to do such scenes, they “already bridged the boundary and the friendship gap” and saw each other’s weirdness.

Theo added that filming the scenes was easy because they never needed to force their chemistry.

“It was easy, to be honest. I’ve said this before: I think sometimes you have to make stuff happen chemistry-wise. You have to force it. But when you don’t and it’s very real and natural, that makes for the best scenes and also the most fun because if you have natural chemistry you can have fun and you can build on that.”

The first trailer for Allegiant was recently released. It features Theo and Shailene’s characters, Four and Tris, leaving Chicago in an attempt to uncover the truth about their existence. The trailer is filled with action-packed scenes that promise more than the previous films. Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer, Zoe Kravitz, Jeff Daniels, Miles Teller, and Ansel Elgort will reprise their roles.

Instead of titling the films with mere Allegiant Part 1 and Allegiant Part 2, the creative team opted to alter the titles to Divergent: Ascendants and Divergent: Allegiant. It was also confirmed that there would be significant changes, although it’s unclear if they would affect the film’s bittersweet ending.

Meanwhile, reports have previously surfaced that Theo would tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Ruth Kearney, after his commitment for Allegiant. Theo and Ruth were seen together last month in Prague, Czech Republic. It is believed that they have been dating for six years already after meeting in a drama school. The actor, however, remains hush when it comes to his personal life.

Unlike other celebrities who constantly update their fans through social media, Theo previously told Flaunt magazine that he would never sign up for Twitter or Instagram.

“I don’t have it and I never will. Other actors I know are really good at it and they rock and roll it, but it’s not for me. If I post a picture of us having a drink now and get loads of views or comments and stuff, then suddenly you’re quite exposed and you’re in a world of work. I just like being present.”

Shailene’s on-screen beau also doesn’t Google himself, for he believes that the act is “totally mind numbing” and that “it doesn’t actually add anything to your sense of self.”
