Squirt Gun Attacker Jailed: Kevin Jaramillo Found Guilty Of Spraying Semen On Kids Faces, Gets 18 Years In Prison

Kevin Jaramillo, a 35-year-old man from Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been sentenced to 18 years in jail after he was found guilty of child abuse and other criminal sexual offenses. Jaramillo was arrested after he used a squirt gun laden with semen to spray several kids in the mouth and eyes. According to KRQE News 13, Jaramillo initially pleaded guilty to the charges and later changed his plea to “no contest” on Friday afternoon following which a judge sentence him to 18 years in prison.

The conviction came after several of his victims accused Kevin of spraying them with semen on two separate occasions — once in August of 2013, and the second time in early 2014. According to his victims, Jaramillo approached them and claimed he was making a video for his church in order to raise awareness about abandoned puppies and wanted to film them as he used his squirt gun on them. Several children agreed assuming the squirt gun only had water. However, several of them complained to their parents after Kevin squirted a “strange substance” on their faces. According to initial police reports, Jaramillo had also exposed himself before several students.

Following an investigation, samples were taken to a laboratory where it was confirmed that the substance squirted on to the children’s faces was semen. The victims also included an 18-year-old woman, reports confirmed. Jaramillo was soon arrested by police. Apart from the semen squirting incident, he was also arrested on molestation charges for an unrelated crime which he committed in 2014, reports say.

On Judgement day, Jaramillo plead no contest to six counts of child abuse, one count of battery, two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor under 13, and one count of sexual exploitation of a child. Judge Stan Whitaker sentenced Kevin to 18 years in prison and up to 20 years in probation after he is released. Jaramillo would also have to register himself as a sex offender once he is released. Had Jaramillo been found guilty of all the charges leveled against him, he would have been sentenced to over 57 years in prison, the Eagle Tribune reports. The report also added that all of Jaramillo’s victims were aged between 9 and 18-years-old.

Before Jaramillo entered his plea, the fathers of two young female victims spoke before the court. Both the men accused Jaramillo of spoiling their kids’ childhood.

“I wanted her to have good memories of her childhood, now she has to remember this,” one of the fathers said.

“He’s taken away her sense of security, she still hasn’t gone outside to play since that day,” the second man added.

Following this, Jaramillo was also given time to speak before the court where he apologized for his conduct.

“I thought about everything, I realized that I needed to take responsibility for certain actions. Also, I did, myself, consider these individuals having to go to trial and testify, and I didn’t think that was fair.”

He also blamed drugs and alcohol for his conduct and also claimed he suffered from a mental illness that forced him to do what he did.

Jaramillo then went on to make a 15 minute speech and spoke about several other issues — including a recent road rage incident that resulted in the death of a 4-year-old child. He also talked about police officer Daniel Webster’s death following which the judge asked him to stop, as he thought Jaramillo was swaying away off track.

It was following this statement that the judge found him guilty on all the charges and gave him 20 years in prison.
