WWE Rumors: Dave Batista Vs Brock Lesnar Return At ‘WrestleMania 32’? Jim Ross Explains Main Event Date Idea

Would you get excited for Dave Batista Vs. Brock Lesnar? WWE rumors can be all over the map, but Jim Ross is suggesting that if Dave Bautista returns to the WWE, then a good WrestleMania 32 match card could include this particular idea.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, with Seth Rollins’ injury sidelining the WWE superstar, some WWE rumors are claiming that Daniel Bryan’s return to the WWE could happen soon, although Vince McMahon already has Bryan slated for WrestleMania 32 in an unknown capacity.

This past week, Dave Batista did an interview with WWE where he suggested he would love to wrestle The Rock.

“At this point, you’re more likely to see [The Rock and I] in the ring together. If you flash back to WrestleMania XX, that would be the only time. I don’t have any plans right now to return to the ring or to do a film with Dwayne, but I would jump at the chance for either opportunity.”

Dave Bautista was featured in the recent James Bond movie and the WWE even congratulated Batista on the success of Spectre. This information caused a new WWE rumor to start that suggested the WWE would recruit Batista for WrestleMania 32 in some manner.

This idea does have some merit, but since Baustisa is starting to film Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 it’s likely the movie producers do not want one of their stars risking injury during WrestleMania 32. Also, the movie filming schedule would conflict directly with the 2016 Royal Rumble, so it’s probably safe to rule out that particular WWE rumor.

When Jim Ross spoke about these type of WWE rumors in his recent The Ross Report, he claimed that he would book Dave Batista Vs. Brock Lesnar for WrestleMania 32 if it is possible.

“Hey, I got an idea for you: what about Batista, the heel, coming back and taking on Brock Lesnar, the babyface, at WrestleMania [32] in April in Dallas? I could live with that main event, a red hot Batista coming back and urinating all over the fans and being a big star and being very arrogant and full of himself and being a bad ass, believing his clippings and he wants to take on the biggest dog in the yard. I don’t dislike that match.”

The last time the WWE had Batista return his portrayal was immediately referred to as a mistake by critics. The WWE only let him win the Royal Rumble based upon the promise that he would win the WWE Heavyweight Championship belt as a hero at WrestleMania 30. Instead, immediately after challenging Randy Orton to the belt, Dave Batista was called out as a metrosexual fashionista, and the fans made him earn the nickname “bootista.” To add injury to insult, sources claimed the WWE management lied to Batista about the terms of the contract and was not paid based upon the original agreement.

Based upon this sordid history, Ross also commented on Batista’s frustration with WWE Creative based upon his last attempted return.

“The first thing you learn in booking or creative is to understand your talent and when they’re telling you something from their heart and from their gut, you should listen and try to acquiesce. Now, having said that, maybe all those things are done. Maybe [WWE] did listen. Maybe they did try to acquiesce; however, it couldn’t get done. They couldn’t seal the deal and Dave came back in that babyface type role that didn’t fit him. It didn’t work. It didn’t do him any favors.”

The WWE could potentially build up a rivalry between the two men just based upon Batista’s previous comments. Last year, Dave Bautista blasted Lesnar for being a part time WWE superstar, calling it a “bad decision” to allow Lesnar to break The Undertaker’s streak.

If Batista’s WrestleMania 32 match does occur, then the only question would be Brock Lesnar’s contract with the WWE. The Wrestling Observer says the newest contract was just updated to include more money and extra appearances, but nothing is known about the WrestleMania 32 date.
