Are Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston Feuding?

It’s been rumored that Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston are feuding, and that their 20 year friendship is at an all-time low because of the “intense competition” over specific movie roles.

There’s just one problem. They’re not. Gossip Cop has confirmed the original report that Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston are now fervent “frenemies” is completely false, with a source for the Friends actress confirming that’s the case. Gossip Cop reported, “We’re told any insinuation that the two women are no longer good friends is ‘complete BS’.”

The rumors and speculation over the alleged demise of Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston’s friendship was started by OK! Magazine, who insisted that, because they were competing for very similar roles over recent years, their friendship had suffered as a result.

According to OK!’s sources, Cameron Diaz is specifically upset because she has been repeatedly “losing out” to Jennifer Aniston when competing for film roles.

The final straw reportedly came when Cameron Diaz went up against Jennifer Aniston for the part of Sandy in Mother’s Day, the upcoming romantic-comedy from director Garry Marshall. The insider allegedly explained, “Cameron [Diaz] loved the script, but Jennifer beat her to the punch. There was a time when Cam [got] first dibs; now she can’t bear to hear Jennifer’s name.”

Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz allegedly first became close friends around 20 years ago when the two actresses starred alongside one another in She’s The One. The 1996 comedy was released in the summer of 1996, and saw Aniston and Diaz take two of the leading roles alongside Edward Burns, who wrote and directed the film. It went on to gross $13.795 million on a budget of just $3 million and it was met with rather positive reviews.

There have been several false stories from OK! Magazine regarding both Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston. It was previously reported earlier this year that Diaz and her Charlie’s Angel’s co-star, Drew Barrymore, had been feuding and that she wouldn’t be invited to Diaz’s impending wedding.

However, in actual fact, Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz were still close friends, and Diaz herself had actually already exchanged vows in Beverly Hills with Benji Madden. Proving that Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz were still close, Barrymore actually acted as one of her bridesmaids, too.

Meanwhile, OK! Magazine has also repeatedly published stories regarding Jennifer Aniston that were eventually proved false, including at least three reports that she was pregnant with twins.

It’s not publicly known whether or not Jennifer Aniston invited Cameron Diaz to her secret wedding to Justin Theroux back in August, 2015.

Entertainment Tonight Online previously confirmed that when Jennifer Aniston married Brad Pitt back in 2000 the likes of Salma Hayek, Edward Norton, and Cameron Diaz were present. Meanwhile, when Jennifer Aniston exchanged vows with Justin Theroux the guests included Will Arnett, Lake Bell, Jason Bateman, Ellen DeGeneres, Tobey Maguire, and Jimmy Kimmel. Aniston’s maid-of-honor at both weddings was her Friends co-star, Courtney Cox.

Jennifer Aniston will next be seen in Mother’s Day, which is due out on April 29, 2016, and will see her star alongside Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Jason Sudeikis, Timothy Olyphant, and Hilary Duff. She will follow this up with American war drama The Yellow Birds, which is based on Kevin Powers’ book of the same name.

Meanwhile, according to IMDB, Cameron Diaz currently doesn’t have any future movie projects in the pipe-line, with her most recent roles being 2014’s Annie and Sex Tape.
