Gretchen Rossi Lets Her Thoughts Be Known On Cancer Lie: Remembers Jeff Beitzel

Gretchen Rossi decided to leave The Real Housewives of Orange County a few years back after she proposed to Slade Smiley. Gretchen had wanted to propose to Slade for a while, but she was concerned about his financial troubles. He owed child support and he was caught up in debt that she would take on if they got married.

But, Gretchen Rossi found love with Slade after losing her partner, Jeff Beitzel, back in 2008. She had started filming The Real Housewives of Orange County at the time, even though he was weak and battling cancer. Her co-stars were very critical, but Gretchen said she had no regrets sharing her love with Jeff with the viewers.

According to an E! Online report, Gretchen Rossi is now speaking out after learning Brooks lied about his medical bills. He presented some documents to reporters that were clearly fake and forged for his benefit, which is a crime. He quickly apologized and said that he while he was lying about his medical bills, he was not lying about having cancer.

“Being that I watched my fiancé take his last breath as he passed away from cancer, I am appalled and disgusted that anyone would lie or makeup false documents about a very serious disease that millions are fighting against for their lives everyday,” Gretchen revealed after learning that Brooks Ayers had lied about his medical bills for chemotherapy treatment.

Gretchen has been very vocal about the cancer situation as the Real Housewives of Orange County season aired. Back in 2008, when Gretchen was filming the show with a very sick Jeff, Vicki Gunvalson was very vocal about how Rossi should be caring for Jeff, not filming a reality show. Vicki even made the statement that she would never film the show if her loved one was sick with cancer. As it turns out, that statement would come back to bite her this season, as she filmed with a supposed cancer-sick Brooks Ayers.

Despite being dragged into the drama this season, Gretchen Rossi is focusing on her career and her relationship. And, she still carries a special spot in her heart for the man she lost too soon.

“Six years today since this wonderful man left this earth to go to heaven. He was such a loving good man who taught me so much about life, and despite all the lies and stories that were told about us, what matters is what he and I knew about our love,” Rossi wrote on Instagram, remembering her former life partner. “Furthermore, I feel bad for Vicki as she was duped or unaware of this sick game he was playing with her.”

There had been so many speculations as to his illness. Brooks claims to this day that he is still sick with cancer, and only faked the documents to silence his haters. Sadly, this act didn’t work and he is now facing more hatred than ever. He issued an apology through E! News, which addressed the forgery.

“Words cannot express the deep regret that I have in fabricating documents to ‘prove’ to the world that I, in fact, have cancer. What I did was wrong and inexcusable. I acted alone, without Vicki [Gunvalson]’s knowledge, to produce documents for a reality TV show in hopes of putting doubts about my cancer to rest,” Brooks revealed in the statement according to E! News, adding, “From this day forward, my own personal journey with this disease will remain private as I initially intended over a year ago.”

What do you think of Gretchen Rossi’s comments? Are you surprised that she feels bad for Vicki Gunvalson?
