Sheree Whitfield Not Done With Chateau Sheree: Is Money Truly The Issue?

Sheree Whitfield announced a few years ago that she would be building her dream home in Atlanta. As it turns out, Sheree had the funds to get started, but ended up borrowing some money from her mother to push the project forward. After she was fired from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Sheree stopped the production on her home. It has been three years since she started building the home and there hasn’t been much progress.

Sheree Whitfield had decided it is time to return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta this season and many speculate that she is only returning so she can get a paycheck to finish up her home in Atlanta. As soon as Sheree returned during the first episode, Kenya Moore was quick to ask her about her home and the lack of progress.

According to a Radar Online report, Sheree Whitfield could be in financial troubles when it comes to her home. The reason why it isn’t complete could be due to the lack of funds. It is very possible she won’t ever finish the house and move into it, because it could be too expensive for her to live in.

“Sheree hasn’t been able to come up with the money needed to finish the house. Her ex-husband Bob’s bankruptcy impacted her, as well as getting hit for tons of money in back taxes. Who knows if she will ever be able to move into it,” one source has revealed about the progress.

Sheree Whitfield has been building the house for about five years. When she started construction, she was planning on moving into the home just a few months later. She even pushed a contractor to keep working on the house, so she could move in rather fast.

What went wrong? Well, it sounds like a lack of money is the primary issue.

“There has even been talk that Sheree has tried to privately sell it to come up with cash,” the source adds, but Sheree Whitfield claims she is still building her home.

“It takes time,” Whitfield told the housewives when she attended Cynthia Bailey’s party, and Kenya Moore hinted that the neighbors were complaining about the construction.

Of course, Kenya is also building a brand new home and she is making progress. But, Kenya also says that she has her own money, so she may be able to finish the home without that Bravo paycheck. Plus, Kenya has posted several pictures on Instagram of the progress, and she is clearly moving faster than Sheree. In her blog for the show, Whitfield admits that financial problems were an issue and that she simply took on a project that was way too big for her.

“As a woman who took on an enormous project with my family and clearly got in way over my head, I would have thought that this is the one thing that we would have in common as two women delving into major construction projects and that we could possibly learn from our mistakes, help support and guide each other, and share our hiccups and mishaps so the other could possibly avoid them. What was I thinking about with this one? Silly me!” Whitfield writes in her blog.

Clearly, Whitfield isn’t getting much support from her co-stars, including Kenya Moore. She admits that she still does talk to Cynthia, but it is questionable how much they have talked about Chateau Sheree. These days, she could be using her Bravo money to finish the home. It will be interesting to see what happens throughout this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
