Leah Messer Denies Being Suicidal: ‘Teen Mom 2’ Addresses Rumors On Twitter

Leah Messer lost primary custody of her twin daughters, 6-year-old Ali and Aleeah, one month ago, and earlier this week, rumors began swirling regarding a possible lawsuit against her, which claimed the Teen Mom 2 star had drained her daughters’ trust funds of $10,000 each.

At the end of last month, In Touch Weekly reported news of Leah Messer’s latest custody hearing with Corey Simms, which resulted in the mother of three losing her two girls due to her alleged negligence in getting them to kindergarten on time.

Simms “was awarded primary custody, effective immediately” on October 13, a source revealed to the magazine. “[Leah Messer] only gets the girls on the weekends now.”

Amid drug allegations regarding Leah Messer in 2014, Simms filed for full custody of the girls, deeming her to be “unfit” as a parent, and in the months that followed, Leah Messer’s behavior reportedly got worse.

“[Leah Messer]’s really been screwing up since then, so Corey took her back to court. The judge looked at the girls’ school records, which show that they’ve been late for school, and made the change in custody.”

Weeks later, Leah Messer’s ex-husband reportedly filed a lawsuit against her, claiming she took over $10,000 from her daughter Ali’s account, and at least an additional $10,000 more from her daughter Aleeah’s trust fund. According to an In Touch Weekly report, Leah Messer took the money from her twins, and her former partner was determined to get it back.

Following the two reports mentioned above, Leah Messer was said to be “suicidal” and “deeply depressed” in a Radar Online report.

“[Leah Messer] seems deeply depressed, and everyone is very concerned,” a family insider told the website, citing the loss of her 6-year-old daughters as a leading factor in her misery. “She can’t imagine life without her girls.”

“Dawn is asking friends for advice on how to help her,” the insider added of Leah Messer’s mother.

According to the report, the fact that Leah Messer had yet to come clean about her alleged struggles with drug addiction was a major factor in why she was continuing to struggle, despite having spent 30 days in treatment earlier this year for issues, which she claimed stemmed from anxiety of depression.

“It’s obvious that [Leah Messer] has struggled with pills, but she refuses to talk about it. If she won’t be honest, how is she ever going to truly get better?”

On November 12, following the suicide report, Leah Messer told fans on Twitter, “Articles that are sent to me are unbelievable! I am far from being suicidal because my girls need me happy and healthy! #craziness.”

What Leah Messer didn’t address was the rumor about her possibly impending court battle with Simms. Although the suicidal claims were serious, one would think she’d been in a bigger rush to set the record straight regarding claims, which stated that she had seemingly stole money from her young children.

Following news of Leah Messer losing custody of the twins, In Touch Weekly claimed her second husband, Jeremy Calvert (he divorced Leah Messer in June), may also file for full custody of their daughter Adalynn, 2.

Leah Messer and the season 7 cast of Teen Mom 2 are likely in production currently, with the series’ seventh season expected to return to MTV sometime next year. No word yet on whether or not her ex-husbands, Corey Simms and Jeremy Calvert, will return to the show.
