Vicki Gunvalson, ‘Real Housewives’ Star, Says Love Became Hate When She Learned Brooks Ayers Faked ‘RHOC’ Cancer Drama

Vicki Gunvalson, star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, devoted much of the past season to defending ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers and his claims that he had cancer. Even though the RHOC cast continually produced evidence and doubts that her ex was lying, Vicki continued to believe him. But now that he’s admitted that he fabricated medical documentation from City of Hope, Gunvalson describes herself as shocked, reported People.

The medical documents that Brooks claimed were from the cancer hospital were a total invention, he has admitted.

“I’m completely shocked. I’ve seen the bills, I went to City of Hope,” shared Vicki.

Gunvalson recalled even going to the cancer hospital to get her ex-boyfriend following what he described as the first chemotherapy round. The 53-year-old RHOC star wept during her recollection of what had transpired between them.

“He was there all morning so how do you think anything other than he’s getting chemo? You go to City of Hope because you have cancer, not because you have nothing else to do during the day,” Vicki explained her train of thought.

Gunvalson has played the role of Brooks’ defender for months on The Real Housewives of Orange County. RHOC cast members repeatedly argued with her that he was lying when he said he had cancer.

“I’m guilty of loving him and believing him. Who hasn’t believed someone that you loved?” Vicki questioned. “And why would you lie about cancer when I’ve had three friends die of it in the last two years? I had my dearest friend just die of stomach cancer.”

But now, looking back on the past RHOC season, Gunvalson feels that she wants to apologize to those cast members with whom she battled verbally over her ex-boyfriend’s cancer drama.

“As God as my witness, I would never want to make something up like this; it’s actually quite sick. I’m embarrassed. I want to tell the girls I’m sorry,” said Vicki.

Gunvalson recently has sought to pick up the pieces of her romantic life, including an outing with a pal. But would Vicki ever consider reuniting with her ex-boyfriend?

“Karma,” summed up Gunvalson about her feelings toward him. “I hate him, I hate him with everything in me, and I don’t hate people, but I believed him, I trusted him, I defended him, took a bullet for him when people didn’t like him.”

When it comes to the fabricated medical documents, Ayers described himself as regretful. He also exonerated Vicki of being aware that he was lying.

“Words cannot express the deep regret that I have in fabricating documents to ‘prove’ to the world that I, in fact, have cancer,” said Gunvalson’s ex-boyfriend. “What I did was wrong and inexcusable. I acted alone, without Vicki’s knowledge, to produce documents for a reality TV show in hopes of putting doubts about my cancer to rest.”

But is Gunvalson really done with her ex-boyfriend? An insider claims that Vicki still loves him, reported E! News.

“[Gunvalson believes she’s] absolutely still in love with Brooks. She talks about missing him. She’s dating other people here and there, but she’s not over Brooks,” the source told E! News.

Moreover, Vicki has exchanged texts with her ex-boyfriend recently, and Gunvalson has also talked with him, a separate insider shared with E! News.

What caused Ayers to confess that he had fabricated medical documents after months of claiming he had cancer and reaffirming to Gunvalson that he was sick? A City Of Hope representative shared that he had never been treated at the center.

For Vicki, it’s been an emotional roller-coaster, and Gunvalson is experiencing feelings ranging from guilt about what happened to sorrow, the insider revealed to E! News.

“I think [Vicki] feels terrible about everything that’s happened. If it weren’t for her position in the spotlight, Brooks’ character would never have been called into question so publicly. When things were good with them, she was really happy and they had a lot of fun. She’s sad that it’s over.”

As the Inquisitr reported, the consequences of Gunvalson’s relationship with Ayers included her daughter Briana Culberson, who shocked with her revelations at the RHOC reunion.

“Brooks would do something terrible and my mom was in a different room and I would think to myself, God, do I even say anything because she’s not going to believe me. She’s going to tell me that I’m a liar,” said Briana. “She’s gonna ask him and he’s gonna lie to her.”

When Andy Cohen requested that Briana go into details on such a situation, Culberson went full force into what happened.

“He hit on me when I was pregnant at her birthday party,” said Briana. “[He offered to show his] ween ween… [and said it was] really big.”
